Im so happy this happened last week. I played planetside 8 years ago. this is amazing news.

Very impressive video. Let me ask, how was the original Planetside game? I was thinking bout getting it years ago. Im sure that Planetside will come out either next year or 2013 (depending upon their schedule & fixing the bugs).

its really good. its just mass scale battles with ranking system and respawmimg. just running around large environments, going from post to post trying to cocquer them to expand your territory. its literally a constant war. you log on and go straight to massive battles. every time your team captures a post, you can hear your faction cheering for miles. its the most gratifying feeling you can get in a game. and then you do it all over again.

the first planetside was pretty weak in world layout

but heres the world map. ps2 will be a lot better.

each continent was nodes in which the factions control, and you simply just fight to dominated them all for the ultimate goal, world dominance.

PS2 is going to be a LOT bigger

Looks like Halo combined with ARMA and Battlefield. Sounds interesting, but the lead designer also being the lead designer on SW Galaxies (terrible game) makes me VERY nervous.

Well this came out before both of those, and its actually a very fun game. Itsinstant nonstop action. Period. You are always constantly in the middle of a wide scale war.

I started playing PS1 in beta and I can tell you, it's some of the best gaming moments of my life. No other MMOFPS has ever pulled of the greatness of this game and many have tried. I remember being in this massive battle, like 200+ people fighting for control over this bridge that connected two main nodes and the battle going on for a couple of hours. It was simply awe inspiring. AND it has air and land vehicles AND custom classes AND unlocks AND ranks AND... I could go on and on.

Depending how good this one is, I might have to build another gaming PC just so I can play it.

Never played Planetside, wanted to. But didn't get a chance. I did play tribes, kind of reminds me of that, just bigger scale.

I hope it doesn't get too unbalanced though. A newbie would stand a chance compared to people who've been playing for a while. Has me curious how that'll will all work. Since it's not instance based. The whole everything is "free real estate" had me thinking of Frontlines Fuel of War XD hahaha.

I already preordered an msi laptop in the mix that's coming out soon just for this game. This is a definate MUST BRING TO EGO game. I garentee that to everyone here. I've played in battles that went on for days in ps1. I remember caputring my first node. Let's just say I was grounded for waking up my parents at 4am on a school night because I was screaming so loud. Lol. And if I were to capture another one today, I would scream just as loud.

Just imagin a more modern version of this... Controling nodes with planned strategy with all your eGO buddies!
