ghost servers

hey guys

i had some spare time the other day,was mayb around mid day or 1pm eu time so i loged into steam and fired up tf2. i came to my list of favourites which has all the ego servers and there was not 1 person on any of the servers at all . i joined the 2fort server and sat there for 15 mins and still no one was joining..

usually im not around during that time of the day so im just wondering is this a regular thing or was there issues with the servers during the week

East Coast America is, IIRC, 7 hours behind GMT (Which is British/Irish time. Continental time is generally +1 from France to Sweden), which means the majority of your fellow players are between 7 to 9 or even 10 hours behind you. 1pm is roughly 6am in New York to Chicago (I don't know American time zones all to well so don't judge me )

Now, I often play at 6am myself, but it's hard to expect anyone to, especially in the week. As Europeans, we have to accept that the vast majority of players are in a different time zone. For Americans: Remember if you're playing with a European that seems noobish that they might be very tired. Canadians: Get out, now.

My advice is that there are still many servers that are populated at this time. Ego's servers are not all that expansive on TF2 anyway (only around 6 servers in total I believe) so I'm sure there are some very nice, non-Ego servers there somewhere.

EDIT: Oh, I remember you. The Dub. I'd suggest if you find empty servers, go see your city's beautiful sights. The canals that inspired Kavanagh, the streets of the Inner City where Leo Bloom walked one beautiful June day, the... Err... On second thought, there's always CoD.

It's just that time of day. 2fort servers are always filled and I know this because I play on the fast respawn a lot.
