Ventrilo Music Night

I have an idea for a weekly Ventrilo event in the music room. Once a week (I was thinking Saturday), I would host "Music Night." Basically, I would be the DJ and play music. However, each night would have a different theme. These themes could be genres such as pop, rock and electronic, or fun things like a request night. I could also do guest DJ's and more. I believe that this event would provide an opportunity for eGO members to have fun together and will attract a lot of people, especially since we have nothing like it currently. I have noticed that people occasionally play music in the music channel (with a few listeners,) but there are no organized events. This event would also get more people to come to our Ventrilo server, which is always a good thing. I have already discussed this idea with some people and they think it would do well.

All I would like from you guys is your thoughts and opinions. If you have an idea, post it. Also, it would be great if some leadership members could organize a music room for me to do this in, as well as help me popularize this.

EDIT 1: It came to my attention that karaoke nights were banned, so I will not be doing karaoke nights.

EDIT 2: Here are the details. This event will be every Saturday at 10EST in the Ventrilo Music Room. It will start on August 6, with a Request Night. Over the next few days, I will be preparing the playlist. If you have a request, please PM or Steam me. I will play any eGO-appropriate music.

I don't think I've seen one in the forums, but having a "What I Am Currently Listening To" thread is usually popular... I have a ton of music, would love to share.

I think Facey and Baneling have already beat you to that. There aren't a whole lot of people that come to listen, but there's a few. They do hourly thing or whatever people are in the mood for, trance, metal, today Facey played some chillout stuff, a few weeks ago she was playing decades by the hour, stuff like that.

But to turn up a lot more people would be cool.

Karoake nights were banned about a year ago.

There was an unfortunate incident involving inappropriate songs and lyrics, and the members involved ended up getting banned as well, if I recall correctly. Unless something has changed, the rule has been "no karaoke nights anymore."

You may feel free to use the Music Channels and play music that is channel appropriate. You should only be playing music in those channels. Also what Jeod66 said.

There will be ceratin nights for music. I think there will be Rap Night, Pop night,Rock Night, 80's Night, 90's night, etc.
