Map Rotation Server

[ghettosmurf]

Hey all,

I've only been around eGO a short time, so I'm not sure what all has been done in the past here (beyond a cursory check through the forum archive), but what are the chances of getting a CS:S server that actually has a map rotation?

I'm rather surprised to find nothing but 24/7 servers available, but I assume there has to be a reason for it, or at least a reason for NOT having a server with more maps available.

Enlighten me!

eGO used to have rotation servers but they never went well

Well, yeah, they never went well because some people didn't like the map and Raged...

Some like the map and stay...

Not gonna happen, they never work or get popular.

That doesn't seem to stop us from having a Zombie Escape server.

Zombie Mod and Jail, are mods of CS:S. For them to be successful they have to have a variety of maps. Regular CS:S game play servers are most successful as 24/7 maps like Office, Dust/2, and Highschool.

You missed my point. My point was that lack of popularity isn't stopping a Zombie Escape server from existing.

Zombie Escape is still pretty new and we've had them in the past and they, once pick up, stay full or at least half full all the time. We've had rotation servers they don't keep the players in there long enough to justify keeping one.

Yeah, usually it only ends up being one or two people who play there regularly, since most people are there for the first week the server is up, then leave with the crowd

Since nobody has given him a legit answer, I will.

Ghettosmurf, I agree. I would like a map rotation server as well. Although leadership might not go through with it, you can make a suggestion for the server in the dropbox and let them talk about it a bit. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via Steam, Vent, or the forums.

Italy or Inferno for next map server.

Never worked out. Although a competitive map rotation would be great
