Introducing Steam Trading Beta

Hmmm... sounds interesting, but can you also trade in-game items? The pic looks like you could trade a hat for a game (but why anyone would give away a hat is beyond me :p )

Just got a chance to try it out and it appears as though it doesn't use pages like in TF2. This will make it extremely difficult for me.

Man this is one awesome addition to the game, hopefully it becomes official and get out of beta. This will expand the trading possibilities and give more people option to chose from rather than buds and paypal money. Also, it gives people a chance to get rid of items they want to someone who wants it more and they receive a game they want.

So, pretty much SourceOP's small part of their forum, just apart of Steam now.

I could get used to this.

this.

I don't know what to say, I just hope it doesn't drive prices up and the value of metal down anymore.

Huh. Shouldn't the value of metal have gone up since the uber update decreased supply via crafting?

Anyway, I like this idea. It means I don't have to go through 3rd party sites to trade in-game stuff for not in-game stuff,

This indeed. It already seems much safer to use than a 3rd party site for these kinds of trades.

It's legitimizing something that is already happening in the black internet markets of TF2. This just makes it safer for everyone involved. You're gonna see stuff like this happen a lot in gaming pretty soon. Just look at Diablo 3.
