I've previously been an admin, and I can tell you that if you follow exactly what Quaffer said, it will lead you to success. Just remember: keep it up once you get there, don't make TOO rash of comments about other admins (PM me if you get it, CC might be thrown), and...that's all. It revolves around your behavior. Conduct yourself as a mature, ready to go, helpful, and likeable person, and you've got it.

I just joined this clan yesterday. Having been in a medium-sized clan previously holding a high rank I can't tell you how many poeple asked me constantly on promotions.

Actions speak louder than words. If you want to get promoted, go show the founders why they should promote you.

Couple questions. Being the 'new guy' (or one of them anyway), I can ask what others may be thinking without it looking like I'm hinting at something.

How many active eGO members are there? I haven't seen a list/number anywhere. It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the es/eGs/eGOs. Looking at some of the numbers on the recruitment drive, I would guess that there's probably a couple thousand es - or more...? From what I've seen of the process, it's pretty much an automatic acceptance into eGO (as an e). In my 3 days I've meet and played with some very mature es (whom I enjoyed talking and playing with) and some immature es whom just the sound of their voice was grating.

Just looking at the posts above, I see a couple es whom have been here 1-2 years with no promotion (not trying to hint that they're not worthy - I haven't yet had the pleasure of playing with them). I get that it's based on being noticed as a mature individual (which doesn't correlate with age), and that the time to get noticed can vary largely, and with a huge number of e members it could some time. However what's a realistic time frame if one is active in forums/ingame/vent/etc? 6 months? 2 years? Just curious.

Last couple clans I was in was years ago (like 2-3 and 6-8). Both those clans were smaller ones (less than 50/60 members). So being in one this large is a new experience for me.

I had posted some statistics here on average time to promotion but I've changed my mind. Each case is different. Comparing yourself to the average will either amuse you or annoy you.

There are too many sources of bitterness in the world for those who are inclined to look for them.

Play the games, have fun. Enjoy the freedom. The people who get promoted are the ones that EdgeGamers feels will treat admin as a responsibility, not a privilege. While we should all be grateful for those who take it up, you owe it to yourselves to enjoy the games without having to keep a critical eye on the server while you can. Your time will come.

And I agree completely. There's been times in the past that having admin can be a pain. When you just wanna get on and play a few rounds, you either spend your time spec'n someone, or just dealing with BS.

To the first question... any numbers on how many active members EGO has?

HL Stats came back with these numbers. Any idea how accurate they are? It's been a long time since I spent any time with HLstats.

Nice thread! It is quite annoying to see "Promotion?" threads popping up now, but eventually they learn. And promotion comes all in time, too. That would be a good thing to mention in there, Quaffer.
