My town was limited to copper cabling. Now we have fiber, and they're finally changing over to the speeds that the fiber can handle. We'll finally have up to 75 up and down. They claim that we should have the same down and up speeds, or really close. I'd say they're right.

What I use to have before they switched to fiber.
