After BF3 comes out, what happens to those of us that will not be playing it?...Are we left with no ego server to play on? And if we do have a server since most of you will be in BF3 where will the admins be?
If this post gets deleted, I give up......sort of frustrated at the moment

We will be keeping some configuration of BC2 servers. At this time we're not sure how many/what settings they will have, but we still have plenty of time to figure out what will work best for all of us.

Good question...do we leave a server or two in BFBC2?

Leads into another question... is there a transition plan to transition servers from BFBC2 to BF3?

Since we are 'Demand Driven' maybe we move a few servers immediately to BF3 and then closely monitor server demand to determine transition of more servers to BF3. Determining which servers are transitioned could be as simple as 1 month or 3 month fill quantities (based on historical server demand).

I presume after I get my butt kicked repeatedly in BF3 that I will be wanting the more familiar butt kicking of BFBC2 for a little while..... :crying:

As Slaz said we will not drop support of Bad Company 2 completely at the release of BF3. We will most likely keep a couple BC2 servers for those who aren't playing BF3 for any of the large number of reasons. We will keep you posted as we get more information but as of right now that is all we know.

Hope we do keep Heavy Metal, its still a huge attraction for eGO, easiest place to recruit new people as well.

This is a discussion occurring between myself and Council as well. We are particularly interested in the beta, and the popularity of it.

We are committed to maintain some aspect of BC2 when BF3 launches. In regards to which servers, the amount of, and how many BF3 servers and their configurations are still being discussed, and will be announced closer to launch.

I usually only play in the HC Rush server, as it is usually fully (except when a hacker chases people away or it crashes)

I will have to do a clean install of OS from Ancient windows XP to Windows 7 just to be able to play BF3. Since i am unable to locate my BC2 game CD, i will more than likely not be able to play that game anymore after i install the new OS. So i'll strictly be a BF3 guy, but hey, lets get to it

I believe you can put your CD key for BC2 into Origin and you can download it from there, assuming you have the CD key. If you registered BC2 with EA, you should be able to get your CD key from them.

As far as the BC2 servers, I imagine that BC2 will continue to be popular for some time to come. Yeah, there will be a decrease in BC2 players, at least at the start, but I have no doubt the servers will survive. A good example of a game's resilience is COD 4. We've got servers for COD 4, even though it's several years old and has been "replaced" with Black Ops...

I will say for one many people will prob still play BC2 in the first week of BF3 some because it's gonna be some real server overload people jumping in and out, possible huge bugs, driver issues, glitches, and for some not being able to run it overall. (Thankfully the beta will help out most with this problem)

Good thing =(eGO)= is keeping some servers up...smart move if i say so myself
