Tips for spying on Black Mesa

Use the Dead Ringer + Enforcer. It's a nice loadout that allows some room for error (excellent for unfamiliar maps) as well as some self-defense abilities which are useful for when you are discovered.

lol i wish i could play spy in the first place :P

Mesa and 2Fort art my nightmares. I don't often play them because I can't Spy on them-- too many small corridors that nearly mandate bumping and increase pyro efficiency. There are a few back ways to CPs (and they're good ways), but again they're super skinny.

Black Mesa is great for Dead Ringer spies, all I will say memorize where the ammo crates are.

Ive played mesa for a long time and found that C&D dont fair to well on that map, im not saying its impossible only that me personally I prefer DR as spy on mesa.
Few tips:
1. Keep moving forward while chain stabbing, if you fail stab pull DR out and run like hell.
2. Learn to use the pistol when running away. Cant say how many times when i first started playing spy that I wouldnt use the pistol.
3. Learn to attack from above as Dragonhill put it. Use height advantage because not everyone looks up (seriously, you'd be surprised).
4. Practice all the different types of stabs, 180, drop, stair, Bait 'n' stab, ect.
5. Learn how to use disguises properly. Ex: You dont normally see a sniper capping points or an engi at the head of the pack.
6. Know where all the health packs, ammo packs are (very important when using DR).

Cant think of anything else atm. Feel free to add stuff if you think its helpful.

Learn from the master, basically ^

Doesn't have any input other than what has already been said, practice makes perfect, as said.

Learn to stair stab properly. There are ramps and stairs EVERYWHERE on that map, stair-stabbing is an invaluable tool.

Is the above the real Frisky? Anyway, listen to him regardless.

Just hover around the sniper deck and only kill snipers.

It has some serious side effects like me turning scout.

pro tip #13 watch out for automatic doors when cloaked

since you say you can play spy in other maps...i assume you are looking for good spy spots rather than how to play spy.

here are some EASY spots to pick on enemies:

use C&D and sit above enemy blast door. apparently no pyro (but me) spy checks up there. disguise, jump down, and stab when you see soldier/heavy go through the blast door. also snipers love that spot so they show up there too. if you see snipers with razorback get ambassador or enforcer...and 2 shot kill 'em (you'll need to aim headshot with ambassador of course).

you can also do the same @ second last points.

also try going down the stairs of enemy base (there are several routes to get there...none are 100% safe)...once u get there...stab as many snipers as u can...and feel free to lurk there for more.

if you want more front to front combat and want to play more aggressive then deadringer is the way to go in mesa. C&D is useful...but you've to sit on good spots (where pyros don't get often) and wait...kinda boring.
