Pretty sure they are looking at changing some things around with dead servers. Also fairly sure that the sniper server isn't going to be making a comeback. It was almost always dead.

I can remember it i liked to play on it but it was hard to get some ppl there
back in my e day's :)

Stormy: Im so mad, Lets go to the sniper server
People: Okay.

A few minutes later

Stormy: WHY DID I TALK MYSELF INTO THIS

ah, I remember the good old days when we had our sniper server! Thou it was empty most of the time we used gather a group and get on there (this was back in the days I was an e and my name was ZERO AssAssIn so it was a long time ago) But I don't think it would be wise to bring it back. I doubt it would get more populated than it was back in the days.

Have to agree with Prime, you arn't going to see population on a server like that for long. It's a novelty for a bit, and then it is dead.

the problem i had with the sniper server is the maps, its was nothing but pixel hunting, playing maps like argentan or palermo with everyone sniper is way more fun.

I remember the good old days when all of the DoD servers were regularly, if not constantly, full. The fact is the Sniper server was a good idea for awhile, but slowly became less attractive for many players. In addition, the fact is Day of Defeat continues to lose players to other, newer games. Until Valve releases the next edition of the game (They had better or else I will be upset, not to mention there is CSGO in the works), the player base for DoD:S will continue to decline. I don't like to admit that reality, but sometimes you have to face the facts.

We are all working hard to make sure we lose as few as possible. There are always things to do as long as you understand the issues. True there arn't going to be too many NEW players until DoD:S is updated, but there are players on other servers we can entice. We can also work to bring old DoD fans back to the game. But you are correct. No one is downloading steam and installing DoD:S to make it their main game.

I heard a RUMOR that Valve is trying to make sequels to all their games and DoD:S is after CSGO.
Don't quote me on this cuz I cant find the sources.

the sniper server was here a long time ago, and we tried it changed maps and it's not popular with many people. and a few people that showed up were using exploits and so on. so Artiumus and council and takin it down but for more information on this server best idea to put it into drop box :P
