I dont get it, that wont bring pubs to the server and fill it up, this doesnt count as the FF trail does it?
You're right Compton (at least to a degree). Simply enabling FF or changing the server name or any other changes down the road simply won't bring pubs to the server in itself. What will bring people into the server is simple...
YOU!
What do I mean? It's quite simple. Pubbers look at how many people are on the server at any time when they decide to join a server. If you and several other people join the server, people will come. Moreover, simply doing this once does not cut it. It must be repetitive. People will see that the server has people in it consistently and start adding it to their favorites. Then they will, hopefully, consistently join our server. This is usually how it works. It usually doesn't depend wholly on FF or the name of the server, but on
YOU!
This had nothing to do with my suggestion. My suggestion was to bring in new players that eGO hasn't seen before, not to remove current members from other servers for a few hours on a Friday.
I think this is a good time to remind everyone here that this is not a 1-stop solution. Simply enabling FF will not instantaneously fill the server. It takes effort and dedication by
YOU (read above). The intentions of this is simple. It is to simply introduce a FF environment to everyone here and pubbers alike while we get everything we need (approval, technical issues, plug-ins, etc.) sorted. Instead of doing nothing during this time, GLT has stepped up to do this for everyone.
Why not slowly introduce a new concept (to most here) by integrating it into an event for the time being while we get final approval? For most here, the only exposure to FF is from realism and let's face it, in a public server, FF-on is completely different than realism.
So go get your feet wet, enjoy FF, and have fun. There's absolutely no reason to be frustrated by this, but instead, try to embrace it and usher in the new idea by helping it tread through the waters.
