well. i dont really see the point of that statisc, if its just another kind of ranking. then sure go for it. i dont really care what my rank is xD. i just want to play and have fun :3

I Voted YES!

NO WAY.

I've worked hard for years to be #9 on our TF2 servers. Absolutely no.

I say yes. Personally, might be best to keep archives of the previous stats and perhaps make them available, but a yearly reset would be pretty nice.

no.
No.
NO!

i have no objections personally i dont play for points i play for fun.
i dont realy check my stat count.
I understand that it can be annoying that members lower down the rankings get more point for killing someone higher up the list i guess doing this would make it a bit more even.

I wish we could do away with HLStats all together. People seem to have a better time not worrying about their "statistics" when they aren't counted and have more fun. It would probably save money too.

This shouldn't be an argument, we just want your opinion on the matter. Lets keep civil in here.

To give the folks who say "its not fair to those who have worked hard to get where they are" a different perspective. Lets consider the new pub players joining, is it unfair to them that they don't have a chance to get a high ranking because they haven't been here from the start?

Yes of course its fair! Everyone starts at the bottom and works their way up, if you just take everyone's points away everyone will get the same amount of points for a kill and no one will get any points built up. This is like communism it just doesnt work.

I have like 700+ hours on Egypt alone and probably 1000+ total on all servers, but I voted yes, though I really don'y care either way.

Problem with that is, the stats also help to bring people in. You could always do what I do and just turn them off.

i would say, the best way to do this would have a standard date, each year it will be reset. whoever is rank 1, can perhaps get some of that CC people talks about (or if im wrong that is lol).. like making it to a competition for an example. so there is a MUST reset thing in it (just an idea to do it)..

Reset Yesterday

I vote for reset the scores. I thought it was usually done the first of the year or soon after in the past.

I think it would generate more participation in the servers.

I voted no, its been a long time we had a reset, and many of the players (including myself) have worked their way up to the rank they are currently.

Speaking for CS:S, it is very hard to obtain so many points as a high ranker, our top 10 players have over 27,000 each with our top player having over 41,000. It takes many months to collect these points, and it can be reset with a click of a button.

If the pub really wanted to make a high rank, they would work to their goal. Resetting it would just be the easy way out, because with everyone at the base (1,000) it would be too easy to be one of the top 10 players on the server. It wouldn't feel much of an accomplishment if the player doesn't put effort into it.

people say " it gives a chance for people to get higher ranks if we have a timely reset". This is folly. In that situation, a high rank would mean nothing. What is the point of a high rank if all it means that the better player was afk for a week while you played all for days. or anything else...

why would you even want a reset at all if you DO care about your stats. 98% of you who do want a reset obviously dont really care about your stats.

Lets consider the new pub players joining, is it unfair to them that they don't have a chance to get a high ranking because they haven't been here from the start?

Hlstats fixes that problem with the point system. If I am killed my a F2P player, he gets 25 points because of my rank. Because I was killed by a lower ranked player, I also loose 25 points for the death. The ratio is gradual through out the system. So respectively no, it is not unfair.

Once a player understands hlx, slowly but surly its fairly easy to climb the ranks.
