Hey guys,

I noticed we had a lot of newcomers to realism tonight. About 30 of the 105 members who registered reported that they had no realism experience, which is good news. It means after a year we are still attracting a wide spectrum of individuals.

If any of you, both newbs and vets have any questions, suggestions, or concerns, lets voice them here.

That way we can run things a little smoother next week and concentrate on strategies and tactics rather than basic rules and regulations.

It would be nice to lock the spawn so that the oposing team cant go into your spawn.

I agree everyone! This is YOUR event. We do it for YOU. Let's discuss what you want, need, or like/dislike.

The direction of this lies on you so take the initiative and put your input in.

Thanks everyone!

Take off spawn killer lol

Yes that was my fault. In the past we have not changed the maps so often and I forgot that we needed to turn off Spawn killer and "not disable death messages". Shouldn't be a problem too often. :)

Changes, those of you that have done realism before, what did you think of the changes to the game? More maps, shorter rounds, ect.

I like having 4 rounds instead of 2. But I think everyone could do a better job of getting ready faster between rounds, a lot of time seemed to be wasted during this period

I like the 4 rounds too but that would cut the additional attack for each team. Unless we decide to have 4 hours of realism each Saturday.

Probably just me, but I'm starting to not become a fan of the concept of a team switching between an attack or defense (on each individual map). Not so much from a rules standpoint, but more from a gameplay standpoint.

First of all it gets confusing for the newer players (and yes I know they can familiarize themselves with the rules), but every round we have people asking if we're on attack or defense, and why.

Secondly, with the shortened rounds per map (best of 3 down from best of 5), I feel both teams could get into a better rhythm if they just stuck solely to defense or attack on each map. Gives a team a chance to explore either replicating a defensive/offensive strategy, or perhaps trying something different.

Yes I know exactly what you are saying Skippy! I have never been a huge fan of the switching offense/defense every round. Yes, it gives each team a chance and all that, but in a real battle situation, (keeping with the realism idea), one "team" would be defending during an attack, one team would be attacking, and the outcome of that "battle" would be whichever team executed their objective better (i.e. won). You aren't going to be taking turns shooting each other. If a good defense turns into an offense and eliminates the other team, so be it. Just my 2 cents worth.

All that being said, I'm right there with you Skippy!

I missed it due to work. :/
If you miss the first one, can you attend the second one?

If you mean when the attackers win they attack again and if the lose the other team picks attack or defend, I agree. Should just be attack, defend, attack. Attacking three times is not always fun. Especially on a map we dont know.
