1) Anyone on your team can see exactly where you died at all times via a skull marking your body in 3d (even through walls) and on the mini-map, and is viewable by all class kits.

2) Unsuppressed weapons show you on the map. This is a crutch for people who don't have situational awareness.

3) No VOIP

These have made it very hard for me to decide whether to buy or not, but I guess if I have the extra cash I will :/

1) Not a big deal to me. On the battlefield, soldiers should have knowledge of where their teammates are. If someone were to go down, technically their location would always immediately be reported. Since games don't let you "Report men down at specific locations", I'd assume this is why DICE has it set the way it does.

2) Of course. Why else would anyone use suppressed weapons if it didn't conceal their position on the map? For those who aren't aware to view the map for gunfire, then, it just means they aren't using the game to its fullest potential.

3) I've hated VOIP in every game I've ever played. Usually it is just a bunch of whiny immature children complaining anyways. Ventrilo is my VOIP, and eGO is my team. :)

you answered the questions perfectly, I was a big CS player also and totally hated VOIP, it would just end up with a bunch of kids spamming the mic. Vent is so much more better.

In addition, trying to listen to ingame VOIP and Ventrilo in one is just hard...I'd know, I've tried it...xD

Is this for real? May aswell remove squads feature.

While this is a pain, it encourages teamwork, plus it gets people onto our Ventrilo. Don't complain. :P

Yeah. Lack of VOIP may mean we get more pubbers into our Ventrilo, which then promotes more teamwork on our server, which will then promote new applications.

Win-Win all around ;)

I guess. But how many pubs have been in vent? I've frequently been on our servers and have been the only e on my team. It kind sucks not being able to use voice with them. That's one thing I like with CS over BF.

Realistically, how many times have you been in a squad that has effectively used VOIP? I think I met 2 people in all of BC2 who actually used VOIP for what it was used for.

For things that I have to say to pubbers in my squad, squad chat works well enough.

Sure, the more features, the better! (But, to consider it a reason not to buy the game, I find silly)

Why would you want VOIP to ruin the great sounds of the game. Sometimes when I just want to game, I dont even go on vent, so why would have want noobs to ruin my experience by spamming mics ingame. Sorry but I think DICE did a great job getting rid of VOIP, even they know its not required. Just as PBJ said, it also encourages more people to join our clan and get on our vent servers. Most of the time if you have a good squad, they are all eGO's and all are on vent already.

1) Yes, the assault can see dead bodies like that, but its exclusive to them, and they're supposed to report it so that to everyone else its an approximate location. Therefore encouraging teamwork, now you can say goodbye to flanking or being stealthy at all.

2) Because it conceals your flash and suppresses your gun sound, the same reasons I used it on SOME weapons in the beta. Its a crutch for people who can't take cover and figure out what direction the fire is coming from.

And now I rant on why we should have VOIP :)

Communication is what encourages teamwork, nobody should have to stop during a battle just to type a plan of action or even to alert a squad-member about a grenade, an enemy...etc. And, don't think as though BF3 was made just so that eGO can get more members or more people on ventrilo. In-game VOIP is convienent and allows players, those who don't even know each other, to work and communicate together - across all servers (including those who don't have ventrilo or what not) without the need of third-party VOIP softwares.

If it's such of annoyance, then why not just balance it out with a feature to disable it client-side or even mute specific players. It's understandable for why they shouldn't have all-team VOIP, I can see it working in games like CSS, DOD...etc just not in BF3 because of the large-scale of maps, teams and rounds, but I truely doubt BF3 will be stupid enough to not have Squad VOIP.

There are followers and there are leaders :)

nope, still not buying the argument, I have played CS for long long time and never agreed to the whole chat thing unless I know who my squad/ team mates are. It was such an annoyance to keep muting spammers or keep toggling sound, these same issues are a huge problem with COD as well. The fact of the matter is that if the squad is good and wants to work together, you wont even need to talk, but if they dont then no matter how much communication you have, its not going to work. Maybe its just personal preference that you like VOIP and I dont.

Honestly, DICE has addressed virtually every issue we had in beta so it's fine with me. Their decision for turning off VOIP must have been a good one. Perhaps since they returned to 6 player squads (like we told them to), along with 64 player online made lagless VOIP impossible. Don't get me wrong, I love pubbing with other random pubbers, but I'm going to be on vent with ego or with RL friends in lans so I'm good.

JUST TWO MORE DAYS! FUUUARRKKK

I side with the removal of VOIP, I got sick of it with CS also. I would much rather just use vent.

I don't see how this is something that would limit your ability to be stealthy or flank if only your teammates see the skull anyway. Unless they told the enemy where you were it wouldn't matter. Also it lets you know when an area is being covered by an enemy which would help you.
