BF3 Features That Make Me Cringe

1) Not a big deal to me. On the battlefield, soldiers should have knowledge of where their teammates are. If someone were to go down, technically their location would always immediately be reported. Since games don't let you "Report men down at specific locations", I'd assume this is why DICE has it set the way it does.

2) Of course. Why else would anyone use suppressed weapons if it didn't conceal their position on the map? For those who aren't aware to view the map for gunfire, then, it just means they aren't using the game to its fullest potential.

3) I've hated VOIP in every game I've ever played. Usually it is just a bunch of whiny immature children complaining anyways. Ventrilo is my VOIP, and eGO is my team. :)

Amen.

And now I rant on why we should have VOIP :)

Communication is what encourages teamwork, nobody should have to stop during a battle just to type a plan of action or even to alert a squad-member about a grenade, an enemy...etc. And, don't think as though BF3 was made just so that eGO can get more members or more people on ventrilo. In-game VOIP is convienent and allows players, those who don't even know each other, to work and communicate together - across all servers (including those who don't have ventrilo or what not) without the need of third-party VOIP softwares.

If it's such of annoyance, then why not just balance it out with a feature to disable it client-side or even mute specific players. It's understandable for why they shouldn't have all-team VOIP, I can see it working in games like CSS, DOD...etc just not in BF3 because of the large-scale of maps, teams and rounds, but I truely doubt BF3 will be stupid enough to not have Squad VOIP.

There are followers and there are leaders :)

No VOIP = No Spam = Happy Slaz

What you don't seem to see is that the teamwork for Battlefield (unlike CS) is built into the game itself. We have things like "Q" to mark out important things and now the commo-rose to help in rapid communications that are precise and fast. Far more efficient than VOIP.

Thus, Battlefield wins.

I rest my case.

The VOIP that is built into Battlelog is very nice. You can form a party with your friends and join a server and all talk together . Just join the same squad and you're golden! If anyone breaks off and joins the other team, they can easily form their own party in Battlelog and chat with only those on their team. I agree with all the anti in-game VOIP. In all the games that support it, I've found it to be more of an annoyance than a help.

In addition, trying to listen to ingame VOIP and Ventrilo in one is just hard...I'd know, I've tried it...xD

Tried that too, with RO2 gameplay thrown into the blender, it just makes you less useful :(

Thats like playing jail while in a noisey vent channel... pfff

1) This was on the Minimap in BF2. it was a buggy system but it was there.
2) Agree with Burns
3) Also agree. no one used the Voip in bc2 anyway. Whats the change?

Would rather use vent, but, in BF2, you could use the voip, and well, I noticed that in BC2 it either does not work or folks don't use it at all.
Since I found vent, I have used it and swear by it, a friend from BF2 has his own, and ego has theirs, I am on both, often....LOL
