Looking over the rules in your 24/7 Dust server, I came accross something that creates some problems. Maybe not problems, but injustices. Rule #4 states that admins have the final say. What exactly does this mean? Does this void any arguement that one has to offer against what they think is wrong? If so, as players, what do we do about admins that are inbreds or bring their issues from the real world into the power of being an admin? I'm also confused as to why using the word "black" is racist.

Thank you for your time,

Apple

This is meant to mean a couple of things. We as admins have to use our own experience and judgement to know what is right or wrong. For instance if there is a spray that is not pure nudity, but is still inappropriate, it is up to the admins in the server to handle it with their discretion. This also means that admins have had more time to review the rules then others have. They are said to be right. Arguing with an admin is not the proper way to deal with an issue with that particular admin. That is my understanding of the rule.

If you ever have an issue with an admin breaking the rules, or you think he or she is unjust, you can come to the website and use the Drop Box to notify leadership of your issue. As to the word "black" being racist.. I cannot tell you for one or two reasons. The first, I do not know the context in which the word was used, and two I do not know the admin in the server at the time.

Thank you for wanting to further understand our rules.

How are admins appointed?

If you cannot ask for the logic behind getting kicked then how are you supposed to follow the rule they say you are breaking? I'm (everyone is) either ignored or told to stop "arguing" or I will be kicked and/or banned. Hmm I guess I have no screenshots so this is b.s. huh.

These next two questions are said with no tones of disrespect.

Do you guys set out to be as politically correct as possible?

Why is asking someone if they are black racist? Would asking someone if they are white be considered racist?

Admins are appointed through promotion within our clan. After a certain member is deemed mature, and leadership thinks that they can properly handle the stressful situations that come with the possession of admin. Leadership from each division makes the call and promotes new admins.

I can not speak on behalf of Edge Gamers as a whole when it comes to your second question. Those are questions best put in the Drop Box which I linked in my original post. Lastly, in my opinion, asking someone if they are black is not racist, but it is also not necessary. Again, I would need to know the context.

At this time, I am not the highest ranking admin, so I cannot answer every question, thought I will try my best. I do recommend as I said before, clicking the link to the Drop Box to ask your questions to someone who can give you an official ruling.

Thanks Again,
-Silent

Ahh there it is. It's only a matter of time that someone becomes an admin.

Thanks for all your help and quick responses

Admins are not appointed from how long they have been in eGO. We are promoted based on how mature we are, if we can handle our selves in admining scenarios and when we are deemed ready for the power. As for admins have the final say in server is exactly how it sounds. We try to keep arguments out of the server and try to avoid arguments in the first place. If there is an issue, like Silent said, we use the drop box to take care of it.

As for asking someone if they are "black". We try to avoid and keep ANY racial talk out of our servers, whether is be racist or not. Some people could be offended by the statement. Hope that helps, Silent did a good job of summarizing, I just wanted to clarify.

Well put Silent. As admins we are entrusted to uphold the rules here at eGO and in order to help us maintain order according to those rules, we are supposed to follow a Warn, kick, ban policy. What this means is that in most cases a player should be warned before any further action is taken. Like Silent said, if you feel an admin is acting out of anger or truly being unfair, you can use the dropbox to post your concern to where only leadership can see it.

Why is asking someone if they are black racist? Would asking someone if they are white be considered racist?

Again, as Silent said, it's not technically racist but neither is it necessary. While playing on our servers, it shouldn't make a difference if someone is black, white, or any other ethnicity. Thoughts like these should probably be kept to ones self, but we don't know if the term was being used to ask if someone was black, call someone out for "being black," or just being said in a casual way that might have been blown out of proportion.

Ahh there it is. It's only a matter of time that someone becomes an admin.

As far as our promotions go, leadership hand picks who our admins will be based on how we as players follow and uphold eGO rules. Granted, some may receive admin for being dedicated over some amount of time, that is not how our admins should be thought of. Once again, if you feel you have a problem with an admin or that they are abusing their privilege, use the Ahh there it is. It's only a matter of time that someone becomes an admin.[/quote]"]dropbox and let leadership know. They can't watch everything and if you provide sufficient evidence such as a condump or screenshots or something of the like, the problem will be looked into.

I'm also sure leadership will look into this post and give a solid answer to any other question you may have.

Thanks for asking,
-Zimmy

Yeah.. you're right some admins do, do that. But the rules there so people aren't having a huge flame war while in server. So as people have said you can condump what happened and drop box it, and if needed ask for an advisor to come in server.
