10 Upcomming Games that You Should Care About.

I never payed much attention to the first Guild Wars, but 2 really looks like it is going to change things up in the MMO genre for once. I think it is worth reading up on even if you didn't like the first game. Things like having no dedicated healing class etc.

Plus the storyline has some Lovecraftian influences, which is always a good thing.

That pretty much sums up why I'm hyped for The Secret World.

Why you should care: lol

hahahahahaha

Oh yeah, The Secret World has been on my watch list. I stumbled across it I think a year ago and the theme just seemed like something different and interesting. I will most certainly be giving it a try whenever they choose to release it.

As for the others, never heard of most of them other than Bioshock and Stalker 2 and I will probably not be getting either of those.

You forgot some stuff: Warhammer 40k: Dawn of war 3, Warhammer 40k: Dark Millennium, Metro: Last light and Darksiders 2 perhaps :P

PS: inSANE and Devil's Third coming out 2013,

Also, Devil's Third isnt coming for the PC :(

Wake me when Relic makes Homeworld 3. It's getting to the point where it seems that Relic is afraid to be awesome.

Metro: Last light and Darksiders 2 perhaps :P

I still need to get around to play Metro 2033. Also if you like Metro, you need to try S.T.A.L.K.E.R, it is a Russian somewhat post-apocalyptic survival[/ horror game.

I said upcoming, not games coming out next year. Agent isn't coming out on the PC either.

Wait...what? are you like against fun or something?

No Diablo III? That should be out by Summer next year! :P

For some reason I stopped caring about Blizzard products sometime just before the release of Starcraft 2. But I'll probably wind up playing Diablo 3 anyway.

Its not really that I am against fun, I just have never really been interested in the stalker games. I mean I have bought the original from a Steam sale but I have never gotten around to actually playing it.

As for Bioshock, I played and I enjoyed the twist near the end, however I did not feel it was all that impressive. I will not be getting them when they come out but they will eventually get played I am sure.

And of course anything that has to do with Warhammer/Warhammer 40k is gonna be great, probably my favorite games ever made.

Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3 Mass Effect 3

TSW actually looks pretty good. Didn't pay too much attention at first. Now it's looking cool.

I agree with you on Bioshock, but Infinity looks absolutly spectacular. You should try Stalker, it's not a game that is easy to get into...but once you do it is pretty hard to put down.

I love the first two Mass Effects and I'll deffinitly be getting 3. I didn't list it since everyone already knows about the game.

Nice list. Really looking forward to Insane - Del Toro's fantasy/horror imagination could be amazing in game form. Not sure why, but when I first read about Insane I was reminded of the game Gil Bruvel worked on, 'Of Light and Darkness' - probably because it was a beautiful game (for it's time) and it definitely looked like a Bruvel painting in game form. Really hope Del Toro manages to convey his sense of style to Insane.

Only game coming that I'm looking forward to that wasn't on your list is mainly Xcom, with Metro Last Light and Torchlight II as honorable mentions.

So that's what the Mayans were predicting. It all makes sense now.

You know, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that was correct.

Actually this list reminds me I need to play some more S.T.A.L.K.E.R. enjoyed the series but never got really far into the games.

Spec Ops: The Line
LOL, I'm sorry but I have to pick this one apart :P
the game will follow the story of player character captain martin walker
Sounds good so far I get to be a Captain Walker kinda like a Walker Texas Ranger:w00t:
as he is sent into a post-apocalyptic dubai with an elite delta force bravo team.
L4D and CoD series combined..... continue
Previously, dubai was a wealthy area with many high profile citizens until catastrophic sandstorms left a majority of the city buried. This caused many to evacuate, leaving only a few behind. One of the people left behind was u.s. Army colonel john konrad, a founding member of delta force, who refused to evacuate from a training facility in the city and instead remained behind with the men under his command to help protect the citizens that could not evacuate.
OK so basically I'm dealing with a weak, rundown story line of "The Terminator"...... keep going
After several weeks of no contact, the army fears that col. Konrad and his men are lost to the destruction of the city until a weak distress signal is picked up. This gives the army reason to deploy the player and their squad, who must infiltrate the city, neutralize outlaws and survive sandstorms as they attempt to determine what happened to konrad and his men.
You're telling me that after the sandstorm you left your Colonel and his men along with civilians buried under a city and don't have reason to go back and look for them unless you hear from them? Did anyone think of writing down coordinates where he was so immediately after the sandstorms pass you go and get him, his men and some civies that way you don't have to guess what happened to him? I bet the Colonel is gonna be PISSED when it takes you 4 weeks to get to him and it ain't because he has sand in his pants

This doesn't sound like war to me it sounds like you're going in Rambo style and coming out Terminator style

Yeah, that summary doesn't really explain it well. From my understanding, the Colonel disobeys orders and remains in the city. The Konrad character is modeled after the character Kurtz from Hearts of Darkness, who, in the absence of civilizations, sets himself up as a Demigod in a secluded plantation in Africa. Your team is essentially wading into an anarchistic society where whole sale massacres are taking place just to secure some food and water and Konrad has set himself as lord and master of this insanity.
