computer locks up

I have a big problem, my computer locks up 98% of the time when I try to go into an EGO server. It happens at the beginning of openning the server. This has been happening x2 weeks. I was wondering if there was an up date or something that happened 2 weeks ago. I have no problem with any other server just EGO. My computer was checked out yesterday for any problems none found. help I need my EGO fix:O:crying::cursing:

I suspect the motd video is somehow causing your game to crash. Try going to a flash site and seeing if a flash video is causing you to crash. I know just recently they started putting videos of some movie or something on the intro motd.

Flash driver works on other sites:facewall:. Do you know if that motd vidio downloads everytime or is it downloaded once to steam somewhere?

That, I am unaware of. I believe it loads every time, but don't quote me.

Try disabling the motd.

cl_disablehtmlmotd 1

or go into steam/steamapps/<accountname>/Counter-strike source/cstrike and see if there is a textwindow_temp.html. If there is, make it read only.

I am also having this problem. I will try turning off the motd. Hope it works.

If that doesnt work.. Disable Video Hardware acceleration

It worked I disabled motd. Thanks alot FPS. I was ready to toss my computer.
