So a lot of people have had questions about recruiting.

Currently what we are expecting for recruiting is:

You have played/talked/know the person you want to recruit. We aren't wanting to spam general chat and inviting anyone. We want people who you think would enjoy our guild/community and be able to abide by our rules.

If you feel they would be suitable, ask someone who has the ability to invite to the guild, currently anyone who has one of the following guild ranks:

Republic:
-Republic Commando
-Diplomat
-Jedi Knight
-Supreme Commander
-Jedi Master
-Grand Master

Empire:
-Imperial Agent
-Ambassador
-Sith Assassin
-Grand Moth
-Sith Lord
-Emperor

Once they have been invited/joined the guild they will have around 1 month to make and account and apply to eGO. After this time they will be removed from the guild. This allows them to see what we are about without having to make any further commitments.

We ask that you make sure they are aware of the rules eGO has in place. They still apply within the guild. And also make them aware of the above 1 month rule. But encourage them to join/apply on the forums as soon as possible as it makes everything easier for all of us.

I hope this helps clear some issues we have been having with recruiting.

Feel free to ask any questions.

The eGO rules that are in place I know they apply to guild channel but what about others? For example ... General chat almost always has something quite inappropriate that would violate eGO rules. And frustrations could come out in team chat should situations like these deter someone from inviting? If this happened to me and I still offered an invitation I would let them know where to read the rules but this also goes back to my first question, do eGO rules apply to guild chat only?

If I understand what you're asking correctly. You are playing with a pub group, non eGO members, and they are getting frustrated with something and in party chat let some language fly.

If this happens, first you can't control random party members and definitely not general chat! If you feel the members in the party are worth while and it is more of an isolated situation, I don't see it being a major issue. Inform them of the eGO rules. Use your judgement. :)

As for the eGO rules, they definitely apply in guild chat. In general chat, you are representing eGO so I would keep and "bad" language to a minimum. However, we aren't telling you to not participate in any conversations. In General chat you cannot control how people will respond to you or others. In Party, I would say it's similar, try to keep it to a minimum, you are representing us and other party members could be potential recruits. If you're in a group of friends, who are we to know.

That is exactly what I thought I would hear as an answer! :) Thanks

Glad I read this, I had no idea how to go about recruiting before! In star wars I mean
