Lowering my ping

Is there anything I can do to lower my ping? I am on AT&T dsl - running dual boot XP and Vista (32 bits)

On the TF2 server I average around 100...

I play CoD 4 and my average PING is 200+...
If you are European you'll get higher ping on eGO's server 'cause they are at the USA. If not try not to have many applications open while you play especially if they need internet connectiom-access. That's what I'm trying to do at least.

I figured there wasn't much I could do... AT&T dsl isn't the fastest but its a lot cheaper then Road Runner. Guess I'll have to live with 100 ping
