So, I have recently been browsing through the SWTOR forums, and I came across a topic saying "Will you pay the subscription after January 1rst?"

I read most of the comments, and most of them said No, unless improved.

They said stuff that the PvP is unbalanced, too much singleplayer, bla bla bla.

After reading that, I feel like spending my money on something else.

I was wondering what you guys think about it, and maybe, I will pay the Sub, and buy the game.

Ciao

It's the same thing with every MMO. At launch, a few hundred people were expecting one thing and didn't get it, and will be vocal as all hell on any forum they can sign up for about how much the game sucks.

This game is as singleplayer as you want it to be, so that's a dumb statement. I am constantly inviting random people I see working on the same quests as me. Class balancing is always an ongoing process. Every MMO has an OP class or two at launch, and goes through waves of balance and imbalance over the years. Hell, from what I understand, WoW still hasn't got it right.

You need to understand that people who enjoy the game are more than likely... happily enjoying the game. We're not browsing the forums looking at the threads by people who are all "QQ this game sux read my list of problems and give me official response or I QUIT!!!11!!11!11eleven" We realize that anything we say to them will be met with "lawl fanboi" or such nonsense, and that saying "I love this game" to a thread asking for trolls and attention-seekers will just be met by flames and trolling.

If I based all my buying decisions off the most negative posts/reviews I could find, I would never buy anything.

The game just came out. Give them a bit and most of the balancing issues will be fixed. Any MMO can be single player, its the player that makes that choice. Like Branaddar said, no matter the MMO, there will always be people who didn't like it because they had too high of expectations and so on. Also the thing about "negative posts" is that most players will complain about the smallest things, which makes the game seem like it "sucks". I suggest waiting until they have a trial for it and then give it a shot.

They said stuff that the PvP is unbalanced, too much singleplayer, bla bla bla. PvP is horrible. I mean down right pathetic. Level 50's in full PvP gear playing against level 10-12's who don't even have sprint yet. I played hut-ball last night on a team with 4 people under level 12, we were wiped out 6-0 in less then 5 minutes. It's basically the "World of Stuncraft" too, if you get stunned, you die. No way out.

As far as too much single player, balderdash. The amount of voice acting is unbelievable and it actually makes your storyline / class questing a lot of fun. There are some slow goings and getting into dungeons is really hard sometimes, but it's still a hoot.

After reading that, I feel like spending my money on something else.If you like Star Wars, just plunk down the cash and you'll be happy. If you're regarding this as just "some other MMO" and aren't into some of the lore . . . yeah, I'd wait if I were you.

I was wondering what you guys think about it, and maybe, I will pay the Sub, and buy the game. See above

Hasta luego

my only gripe is the unbalanced pvp, a level 10 can face a level 50. But that doesn't mean the pvp is not fun... The way they set the pvp up, a level 10 can still win against the level 50 in a warzone, but if the 50 happens to have a pvp gear set then it will be next to impossible. Usually it comes down to which team is geared out better and/or which team is working together, hence why I almost always ask if anyone wants to pvp, a group of 4 is better then solo mode

ok Thanks Everyone. Also, !Epic, or anyone, is there a possibly I could "try" the game out, like free trial or something. I would Greatly Appreciate if you know how to get a trial. Thanks

You'll be waiting for quite some time BoomBoom. Game's been out officially for less than 3 weeks. If I recall correctly, it took a few years before Blizzard started offering free trials for World of Warcraft. Your best chance of "trying" the game out was when it was during beta testing. Barring that, find a friend you can mooch off of for a bit.

ok. I guess I will get the game myself. Thanks everyone!

I played Warhammer online and the pvp system is very similar. Except that they did break it down into tiers. I bought the game because I love pvp. I leveled up in Warhammer just pounding through battlegrounds. This game that doesnt seem as possible. I am a little disappointed with the range on my "Sniper". Warhammer also seemed to have a problem with healers being able to heal faster the the DPS can deal damage. Yes a jedi with a healer should kill a lone sith... but a healer should no be able to out heal 3-5 people's DPS.
Stuns are ridiculous. I love shooting a jedi 5-8 times... after doing a little damage to him he turns on me ...stuns me and kills me in about 3 seconds.... I am going to give it another try but if I dont enjoy the PvP anymore this time around I am going to ditch it and stick to World of tanks. I understand the game just came out... but isnt that what Beta testing is for?

I did not Beta test but find it hard to beleive they never considered this a problem until now with the PvP Issues.

the reason they started with lvl 10 - 50 ranged warzones was because of the low amount of 50's. Now, in the next update there's gonna be a specific que for lvl 50's, so you dont have to fight em anymore.

If you buy the game, Roll on the republic side! We're the besst!

I fell in love with the game and can't stop playing I go to my girlfriends house she plays perfect world while I sit there playing star wars...I also play star wars with her father. Greatest MMO experience so far. Once they release the updates all the whining will stop and everyone will be happy...Im personally waiting till level 50 to do PVP.
