Server Suggestion

As I have seen recently, our flash server has had some down time. It rarely gets populated. I know people love that map, including me, but the fact of the matter is; its just dead most of the time.

So, I was wondering if you guys are interested in an orange server. I would like to hear all of your opinions and maybe if its possible, change the flash server to an Orange server.

i think we should save orange maps for events...from what i've heard, orange maps are really unpopular.

Just a heads up on the DoD Rangers, from what I understand they fill our servers by rank. Ava/Charlie/Donner/Kalt/Anzio/Flash or something close to that.

It makes complete sense to do it that way to create the greatest effect. Get people in the popular servers by keeping the rankings high then get them to check out the others. They haven't been active that long, but when they are on I see servers filling, just remember that flash is last.

Argentan.. Oh wait, we did that. Sigh. truly the best map. Oh well. Good idea, but in my opinion, we're lucky to have the populated servers that we have.

Most clans/groups only run 1 popular server for DoD:s if they're lucky, we run 3 to 4.

Sumac made a very nice point about the Rangers, What would help this group a lot is to get more members that are willing to help the servers and preserve DoD:S.

Yeah I have one, but right now I'm Tied up in SWTOR. Even though most of the time I had to get in Flash and put out an announcement It' should not be up to 1 person. If you truly want to see Flash populated you will need to coordinate in vent and fill it. Servers do not magically full up over night. Like I have said before Flash is the only reason i still hang around in DoD:s. The best way for Flash is go into the server with at least 6-10 players total and play for 10 minutes. If nothing happens then you can leave. I have done this and it works. The server gets filled to about 24 players. Talking about dead servers on the forums does not fill them.

From what I have been told, increasing this number would only make hit-reg worse.

And Dutch, the people talking about it are just looking for a solution that hasn't been tried. There is nothing wrong with talking about solutions on the forums or having discussions. That is a good thing, it's just that we need some followup, and the reason that you don't see followup in Flash is that there is just not enough interest.

Those of you wanting to join the Rangers group, please feel free to hit myself or GreenlightTerror up. The more members we can get in to help us fill our servers the better off we will be. We can post announcements all day long, but unless we have people join in to help us for the greater good, there is not point in making the announcements.

Expect to see more from the Rangers here in this coming week. There will be a meeting on Friday to review what the group is all about and what we can all do to help fill the servers up. Just a couple weeks of us all pitching in can do amazing things. Look at Kalt when it was brought back, it did not take long for numbers to improve there. Unfortunately it doesn't stay full all day but the evenings it stays full into the middle of the night.
