Terraria Showcase Thread

So, hopefully a lot of people picked this up when it was on sale for $2.50 during the holidays. I've been playing it since it released and I don't think I've ever had this much fun building crap in any game.

inb4minecraftposts: this is a terraria thread.

Before I post any images, I'd like to share a couple of tools I use from time to time. Some of them people make call cheating, but to each his own.

Terrafirma is a map viewer, it basically renders the map for you so you can take screenshots without the HUD being in the picture. It comes in handy when wanting to show your friends. It will also search for updates on it's own, which is nice.

TerrariViewer is an inventory editor. Yeah, some of you will say this is cheating, but it has other features to. You're able to change your hair and other appearances with it.

TEdit is a great tool for editing the map, and this is definitely cheating. I'll admit, I've used this to change the values of things in my chests, which makes life so much easier when creating storage areas for the different materials and such.

So, now that that's out of the way, here's some of my projects on my world titled "The Troll's Playground"

Finding all the Pearlstone and Cobalt is a nightmare.

The arrows light up in sequence with 1 sec timers.

Saw this on Youtube, decided to make my own. It's basically a farming station, use the Battle Potion and a Water Candle and you can pretty much farm everything. Slimes, Goblins, Zombies, even the King Slime. Note: You'll probably need the summoners for the King Slime and the Goblin army.

Tower of Armors. All the sets of armors, the top 3 is all the sets of the Hallowed armors, which took me forever to get.

Made this floating jungle island above the entrance to the dungeon.

Wondering if you ever use Buildaria? I started out with TEdit, but I moved to this because it's so much easier to use for actually building stuff.

Ok, here's one of my houses - I hollowed out the inside of the hill and built a sunroom at the top, apartments for my NPCs, a crafting area, etc. There's actually a swimming pool and storage area and more stuff underneath this, but I don't have TerraFirma yet, so I can't take a picture of the whole thing at once (and you have to put up with the HUD too - sorry!!)

Nice, I usually just make a little house in the bigger hills. and Ragman, I like your flower areas.

Just want to show this off today. Gathered enough Purification Powders to pull this off and with the help of TerraFirma, my map is completely corruption free.

Makes things easier in the end after you defeat the Wall of Flesh because the corruption spreads so fast in hardmode.

Finished my snow island. Took awhile to gather all the snow blocks.

Nice! I didn't know you could plant acorns in the snow - I'm going to have to go try that now.

I think the trees grow by themselves in the snow.

Finished my storage rooms. Talk about a PITA.

Very cool! I like how you've marked what's in each chest - do you have a chest for every item in the game?

Yeah, it took forever to finish and is actually a project that spans 5 maps. My previous 4 maps were being used to make all this crap.

Back! I took a little Terraria break, and then I started a new world and a new character, so it took a bit before I had anything worth taking a screeshot of. Especially since I didn't use any editors this time around.

Here's an overview of what I have:

That "umbrella" was brutal - something like 14K dirt blocks there. I'm putting trees in to make it look nicer, but its main function is to keep the meteors off my stuff.

I live in the hourglass, my minions live in the apartments to the west, and to the east is my Garden! I love the mushroom trees, so I left them a nice spot to grow, and it extends all the way to the Cavern layer so I could have an Underground Jungle for Jungle Spores and Vines and Stingers and stuff.

A close-up of the garden. I ran into a Demon Altar, so I'm going to have to plant the Fireblooms around it.... it is kind of handy, though, because that little Corruption area above it works great as an EoW arena. Night, when the Moonglow are all in bloom, is really a sight to see.
