Trouble connecting to server

Ive been trying to connect to both Ava and Donner server, but I kept getting stuck at downloading materials/decals/custom/zalman..

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Your best bet on this would be to ask Blue Stealth. He seems to solve issues like this faster than anyone.

I have seen that decal. It was for on server advertisement, but i thought it was taken away. I do not think you can just delete the stock map and re download it. You may have to reinstall dod:s or verifying your game cache.

Verify your game cache. Try that first!

Check to see if this happens with other eGO servers, and then with an Avalanche and Donner server that is not eGO. Let us know how that goes.

I'm having the very same problems with JUST Avalanche and Donner. I can play in the Anzio, Kalt and Strand servers perfectly fine.

Im also having the same problem with these 2 maps??? are the people who cant get on the servers on macs because i am and that seems to the problem for most things steam/valve related.

These 2 maps work fine but just not on eGO servers i have played during realism etc. and they work.

I'm on a Mac as well, but still does not make sense because you have to download the exact same things for every server. Something in the script on those two must be messed up.

UPDATE :


I've tried Validating my files, Deleting Steam and reinstalling it, deleting Day of Defeat: Source and reinstalling it and still the same problem. And it's been brought to my attention that " its because donner and ava are run from a different server box than the other 3 and i think the problem lies there"

But on the real, AFTER ALL OF THAT LAST NIGHT YOU STILL CANNOT LOG IN? When you were talking to me as I played 1.3 I was in a semi-comatose state..

Yeah, still no luck with those two servers. It makes absolutely no sense, except for the possibility because those two are on a different server box.:thumbdown:

On the real real. I play DoDs on my MBP occasionally and run into the same problem that you are experiencing, you dig?

Reinstalled to no avail.

Go to your options -> Multiplayer -> Do not allow any downloads from the server.
Im not sure if this will work, but its worth a try.
