Recruiting to Help the Servers

Like a lot of people on here, I usually am on the servers and recruit around normal business hours. Anytime we can get pubs converted to members and increase involvement is beneficial.

However, the times our servers are the emptiest (late night and earlier in the day) is where recruiting can help us the most. If everyone tries to do some recruiting now and again late at night or early in the morning, we can possibly get pubs and regulars that are on at those times to become members.

I know there aren't a lot of possible recruits out there at these times, but let's do a thought experiment. Ava stays full almost all of the time. If we recruit from Ava or Strand at 3AM or 8AM, we now have members that are involved in eGO and on at those times. They may not even know that we have servers other than Ava, but find our other servers and start trying to fill those at odd hours as well. We now have e's, future admins, & recruiters on at those times. These recruits are more invested in eGO and play more regularly on our servers at odd hours.

Late Night/Early Morning Benefits (Everybody Loves Bullet Points)

• More members that are on at odd hours
• Members may become admins -> Able to admin at odd hours
• Servers are now well policed at odd hours
• These members can recruit at these odd hours
• They are more involved in eGO and discover & help fill our other servers
• Server rankings improve because we have more people on at odd hours
• The more the server rankings improve, the easier it is to keep the servers full and recruit

I am going to make a point of recruiting at odd hours as much as I can because all of this helps the division. Everyone understands that you can't recruit like this all of the time. So, next time you can't sleep and roll over to see that the alarm clock says 3AM, don't read a book . Hop on the servers and recruit!

i never really got into the recruiting scene, but I agree that "odd times" are the best times to recruit for a few reasons.

#1. Typically during the day, you see the recruiters asking pubs in a public message if they want to join eGO.. Only issue with that is that we make recruiting efforts to the same people. Sure, new pubs come in during the day as far as US times go, But the day players are often returning players who frequent our servers.. Especially Avalanche, strand and kalt. I usually see the same bunch often from 1PM to 12 am eastern.


When do I usually see new faces on Avalanche, for example? From 2AM to 10AM. During these times I see many new players attracted to our servers, probably happy to find a server still up and full at 5 am. Half of the time these players are not located in the USA but that makes no difference. I've frequently seen new comers in the early AM hours say they've never played in eGO servers but they enjoy playing with us after a short period of time. Obviously that's a great time to ask them if they'd like to join, etc etc.

Long story short, "off hours" recruiting has the potential to be quite successful. Heck, I might even start recruiting people. We all know I have such a beautiful way with words.
