Ban Demos

sometime i like to read through the request ban forums just to see if there is anything interesting that people do and to hopefully not do it myself
anyway in there people talk about recording a demo,
What is a demo? and
how is it done?

A demo is a movie/recording of a specific player. It is taken by using commands within your console and is the actual footage of the player and any suspected issues raised in the game play. Only eGO™s are allowed to submit demos and eG™s if an eGO™ can not be found. New recruits/ =e= members and public guest of the server should notify an admin of any issues they encounter on the server. To record a demo, simply bring up your console, type the command: Record Pvt.LunchBox To stop the recording, type the command: Stop. To review and find the demo on your computer is too lengthy of a subject for here. I suggest you log into vent and ask an eG or eGO how its done.

Yea, demos help to complete bans so that there is actually proof. People always do demos of themselves.

Question: May an =(e)= record a demo, send it to an =(eG)= or =(eGO)= for them to request a ban?

Also can I record a demo just to try it out?

I'm pretty sure yes to the first one.

ANYONE can record a demo
Just open up the console with the ~ key (if it's enabled) and type in record (steam id here) so for example:
record hockeynut824
then it will begin recording.
When you want to stop your recording, press the console and type
stop
the recording will stop.
when you want to play the recording, type
playdemo <(name here)> for example:
playdemo <hockeynut824>
the demo will start to play. MAKE SURE that you type in the exact name that you used when you said record hockeynut824 or whatever. also make sure that you are out of a server to watch a demo
to stop a demo playing type in
stopdemo
Please correct me if I am wrong on any of these.
To access your demo, the file path is:
C: > Program Files > Steam > steamapps > (file name) > day of defeat source > dod
Then you will see your demo titled the person's steam file .dem
example:
hockeynut824.dem
So there you have it... Please correct me if I am wrong on this anybody, and happy April fools day!
