I realized yesterday, that it was in early 92, about this time of the year, that I bought a modem for my computer and entered the world of online gaming.

20 years.. games (and it's community) sure have changed a lot in 20 years.

Wow, that's impressive. I'm sure things have really changed since then. I remember playing a shooting gallery type game and lemmings just a couple years after that.

Do you remember when they made games, not for money, but for them to be games?

That time will never come again...

Oh wow...now that I think of it I've been playin since I got my Game Gear back in '93...or was it '92? I was like 4 or 5 at the time.

I said "on-line gaming" :) I'm not going to attempt to guess when I started playing video games.

Yep, that's what got me into online gaming. DikuMud. Free. Something like that will never happen again..

My girlfriend and I were just waxing philosophical about this topic yesterday. There are still real games out there (PixelJunk, LittleBigPlanet, to name a couple), but they are few and far between indeed.

I'm getting close to the 25-year mark in gaming myself... my friend Dan has a great quote from his Dad watching him play Super Mario World when it debuted on SNES, "Games will never get any better than this!" Some would surely argue he was correct :P

Cleans off the cobwebs... (cough cough)

I was playing games via a BBS (Bulletin Board Service) in 92/93 that a friend of mine and myself ran (2400 Baud Modem, that was fast back then). Although the BBS is long gone, we continue to game to this day.

Video games... hmmm. started with Pong in 72 I think. Dang, too much dust on those memories hehe

I'm running close to 14 years of gaming starting back on the sega genesis. I remember when the n64 was the biggest thing to hit the market. My grandpa was able to get one for my brother and I the Christmas it came out.

LOL, I remember pong. I wasn't playing in 72 (was only 4 at that time), but yep, I remember that game when i was around 10ish.

Around that time (when I was 10ish) was when Asteroids came out. THAT was the game..

I first started gaming on one of these.
