CPU Over Temperature Error

Hey guys,
Over the past few weeks, my computer has shut off twice with the following error:

"CPU Over Temperature Error!, Press F1 to resume"

I looked at my computer temperatures and they seem to be fine, so I have no idea as to what's causing this.

I've had my computer since September of 2009 and haven't made any changes to it and have never had a problem.

Hm what are your cpu temps? And are you Ocing?

CPU Temperatures

• GPU = 50C
• System = 41C
• CPU = 44C
• AUX = -5C
• HD0 = 25C
• CPU = 44C
• MB = 41C
• Core 0 = 55C
• Core 1 = 55C
  
  According to speed fan.

No, I'm not over-clocking.

That's a BIOS feature.

If you do not think there is a problem, easiest way to solve this is to disable the function in your BIOS.

p.s.

I noticed your cores are a bit hot, 131? Fahrenheit.

Have you ever reseated and cleaned off your CPU cooler(s) if possible?

I'm not really "tech-savy", so I'd have to say no to your question Ric. I've never touched anyone on my computer in the last 2 years beside blowing out the dust with the air cans.

What can I do about the cores being hot?

I would check to see if you cooler is still seated right. Those intel cpu cooler pins are a pain. Also you might want to invest in an aftermarket cpu cooler. They can provide better cooling than the stock cooler

Maybe try some thermal paste on your cpu?

Problem solved.

User had too much dust inside his PC.
User had too low of a minimum spin, increased to 95%.
