This is my dilemma: I live in Texas & this woman that ive been talking with lives in New Mexico (the states/territories are right next to each other). Still there is some good distance between us. She has told me repeatedly that she wants to get in a relationship with me, but I am rather hesistant because of primarily the distance right now, but now I have a brand new issue that really complicates things. I just lost my job (which she has been real supportive of me trying to get a new job). Ive also been studying & training to get my A+ certification (which shes been supporting me on this as well).

Now my question to the community; has anyone here ever been in a long distance relationship (ltr)? Are you currently in a ltr? If so, please give your feedback on your previous or current situation so that I may be able to get a better idea of how to receive & understand this situation so that I can work with this woman. Also if you have any questions for me, feel free to ask. Ill do my best to answer them to the best of my ability.

If you're both interested in each other, then don't worry about distance. Maintaining steady contact is more important. My sister was in a long distance relationship (She lived Michigan, he lived in far side off Pennsylvania) for 2 years before she finally moved in with him. during that time, the only time they stopped talking was to let the cell phones recharge. Even they they hopped on Facebook and chatted away.

Here's some inspirational music

Good luck!

Strength and Trust, my man! I've been in a few and they didn't work out because those two key words did not exist. But if you have those, you should be okay!!

I've been in a few.

Basically, nothing can really affect a relationship if two people really like each other, and because of that, have the room for there to be love.

When you love someone enough, you never care what sort of limitations there might be. All you care about is just being yourself with that person and they with you.

So yeah, don't worry.

You mentioned how she feels but you haven't mentioned how you feel. Therein lies the answer...

People are going to try and be positive and tell you it can work. Realistically, the chances of long distance relationships working out are very low. If I were you, I'd avoid the trouble and find somebody closer.

Yea I've done this... oh wait... *goes back to the ShoutBox*

OK storytime. Once there was a friend of Dead Tom's. Dead Tom's friend was dating a person from Ireland, while she was living in the United States. Two years later he proposed and decided he was going to immigrate and get married.

They stayed in touch with skype so it can work you just both have to understand the circumstances. Take it easy and don't stress about the distance its just a number.

not sure if you have watched it or not. but this video might give you some insight to think about. :D

*edit* i haven't watched it myself so i didn't know what is recorded in the video so viewer discretion is advice. If there is anything against eGO Forum rules, please let me know and i'll remove it ASAP.

if you really care about her distance and what other people think shouldnt be a factor, just make a decision that you will truly be happy with.
