Hello folks, since there are a lot of people from a lot of different places here, I was wondering where would be a good and safe place to live in the U.S. Somewhere south of Pennsylvania (where I used to live) on the East coast. Suburb preferred. I have my own business so I don't need to worry about jobs. Mainly warm states or where the winter isn't that bad, such as in North Dakota (where I live now). Thanks for any help.

I live North of Boston and I love it. Right on the water and the rent isn't too bad.

Go to Google maps and look up Nahant, MA. I know you said south of Penn, but I am biast. Lived up here my whole live and waking up to ocean views always has it perks. Crime rate is non-existent for the most part unless you move to Lynn. They have a community school and low income housing nightmares. Driving thought is fine though.

I live on the east side of Cincinnati, Ohio. Super super safe. Have never had crime in my neighborhood and the only things I've seen in the newspaper is things like teens stealing beer out of people's garages who leave their doors open hahah.

Dallas is pretty safe as well! I have family there and the weather is nice.

To put it simply, it sucks here. The winters are terrible, oil boom is causing lots of drama and craziness, and it's unbelievably boring here.

North Dakota just screams boring to me! I've flown over it a few times though...

Tennessee is pretty nice, lots of burbs. Winters aren't too bad, this week it's in the 80s. Just stay away from backwoods areas. Saws in trees is all I'm saying.

Define a terrible winter. Here in Michigan every major snow storm was completely melted in less than 24 hours...worst winter ever. Unless you live in the UP, man they got it good this year and I am jealous.

I would also highly suggest Texas since I used to live in the Dallas/ Ft Worth area. There are certain towns that are rather pricey, but make sure you steer clear of north Arlington. Even tho Cowboys Stadium is there, not very far from it is a lot of strip joints & that area is very low income. 1 of the things I miss about that area is the fact that theres plenty to do in that metroplex. Concerts going on almost every weekend, mini golf, reg golf, parks, etc, etc, etc. The sky is almost the limit there. They also have some of the best job markets in the country. Since were gamers, they also have their annual Quakecon (which is usually in Dallas now). Just a lil bit of helpful info there. I almost forgot to say that theres quite a few ego members up in that area as well.

Almost forgot, the only time they get anything close to "winter" weather is in February, but it lasts for like a week & thats it.

I live in Asheboro, NC. the only snow we saw this year was on a sunday night a few weeks back and it was mostly melted the next morning. Several houses for sale in my neighborhood where the worst thing that happens is a couple of cars have been broke into.

Houston :)

I think it dipped into the upper 40's a few times this year, but that's it.

4th largest city in the U.S, (or is it 3rd now?) Lots to do here... not to mention the ocean.

We don't have winters in Florida, In the middle of December its 70-80 (very rare that we have anything lower during the day) degrees outside, and during the summer is 80-90 (very rare we have anything higher during the day)

If you are looking for a place that is very nice, move to lakeland, its a suburban place, very quiet (in the sense that you hardly hear any emergency vehicles, meaning low crime compared to others) and smack dead in the middle of florida so when hurricane season comes around, you will feel the weakest part of it. (Last year and this year we didnt have any)

Oh, and its were you'll meet me ;D
