This is a possibility, we are currently discussing it at the Division Leader level.
It is not that we do not care about the community. The community is the most important part of eGO, it is what makes eGO what it is. As Leadership we do our best to make the best decisions for the Division as a whole, but sometimes we must make very difficult decisions that not everyone will like that we feel are in the best interest of the community. In this case we took away a failing server in favor of a server that we hope will do better bringing more members onto our servers and into the community. An empty server is a waste of our donators money and over the last month Mesa had been empty almost 24/7. We understand that mesa has a strong following within the community and that many people are upset with this, but we feel that it was the best move for the Division as a whole.
As for us only caring about ranking, ranking is a number that indicates how often the server has players and how many players it has compared to other servers. So yes we care about ranking, mostly because if we have the #1 ranking that means that as many people as possible are coming to our server and playing on it all day every day. Honestly though, the term ranking has been thrown about more than I like. In my opinion, if the server is full most of the day and the players are having fun, then I don't care if it is rank 1 or rank 2000.
We will consider this idea at the Leadership level, but understand that if it does happen all players will be kicked from the server for both Admin Trainings and for Events. I have also spoken with the Event Coordinators, I don't know how much they are willing to reveal at the moment but I know that they are planning on hosting weekly Mesa events for everyone who wants to play.
I hope to be back with favorable news later on, and feel free to PM me with any questions, comments, or concerns.
