BlueStacks question

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here has experience with BlueStacks. Ever since I installed it, my computer has these fits where it kind of seizes up and takes a LOT longer to do anything (even simple things, like opening a web browser). It's intermittent, not constant - although I'm way more likely to get one of these little fits after I've done something with BlueStacks.

Is there a way to fix it, or is this something I'll just have to live with?

I recommend first, while BlueStacks is running, opening your Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), click the Processes tab, and click the Memory section to sort by the amount of memory used by each process. They should be sorted in descending order; note how much memory the BlueStacks processes are running (I think there are several of them for the dock and whatnot). If none of them are very high up on the list, it's probably not BlueStacks being a memory hog that's causing your computer to lag up.

Try uninstalling BlueStacks and see how your computer performs then. If it goes back to normal, you can be sure that BlueStacks is actually causing the problem as opposed to something else.

Those are my thoughts; I'm sure someone else may be able to provide more help.

I looked at that memory thing, and the BlueStacks agent isn't too high on the list (and the things above it all use much more memory), so I figure it isn't that. I messed around with it a bit, and it looks like I only get the serious slowdowns after using BlueStacks with certain applications - with it just running in the background, the computer usually does ok. The computer is an ancient MacBook, so sometimes it just slows down on its own.... I think that's what the other slowdowns were.
