Let's get something straight.
Ganking somebody because you don't like them is not PvP.
Pressing the hostile button because it makes you smile, giggle and feel big then killing people below your gear/level is not PvP.
I've done it and i was king of my region with my hammerdin and my lancer barb. It was fun for a time but it wasn't pvp and it wasn't fair for the people i killed and made angry.
Blizzard didn't dumb down this game pvp wise. They just made it more A-hole proof.
PvPers will get their arena pvp soon for more competitive pvp.
Casual players will not have to worry about getting ganked ever again.
Win-Win scenario for both parties.

Just to note, Blizzard intentionally left PvP out so that they wouldn't have to delay the release of the game for another month, two or five just to get arena out. Sure most PvPers could probably say that they wouldn't mind waiting for a little bit longer after over a decade since D2, but you can't ignore PvEers just because you prefer PvP.So we can't expect there to be options in a modern game? A modern game backed by a massive budget with developers that have no excuse to exclude a core feature?
For those of us who like PvP and don't take a million years to level up, launching a game without one of the series' best features is just Blizzard shooting themselves in the foot.
We can't PvP at level one, but it's not going to take 99% of PvPers 'the first month or two' to reach levels where they can actively PvP, so it's going to be a boring launch waiting for PvP to actually get added.
I'm not saying that there isn't anything else to do in the game besides murder other players, but it just seems kind of silly that they'd dumb the launch down like that, knowing how many people want PvP to at least be part of the game at launch.

R blizzard made the game more casual friendly.
how is hitting hostile not PvP? its player vs player. you don't seem to know the term PLAYER vs PLAYER, it doesn't have to be fair to be PvP. People cant take the fact that you could be killed at any time and should always watch out for others, they expect to meet friends and hold each others hands and making friendship bracelets while wondering around through hell.
You are going through (what is practically) hell, you think someone is not going to want you dead to get a good item? it adds another aspect to the game, don't trust people.
Blizzard dumbed down the game in general to make it better for casual players.
TLR blizzard made the game more casual friendly.
to jawneh:
they are releasing an incomplete game. A BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY, releasing an unfinished game early cause they gave into peoples demands?
blizzard is a quality company, i have been able to play their greats (warcraft, diablo ect.) when they were still new. its disappointing to see a great company bow down to the people and release a work in progress.
BTW im not trying to start an argument, just a conversation![]()
The game is gonna suuuuuck, it seems like there are no skills and you cant really level up the skills so there are little combos that can be made. Seems more like "Oh here are 10 skills that you can pick 4 of, use tons of strategy to win". I do enjoy strategy but i enjoy lots of skills and unique combos.
hardcore all the way after level 10.
