Ahhhhhh, you beat me to it.
It has to do with this http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Eliminating_The_Impossible.
Good to know the server plugin is still workingstranger still, this happened to me before, and it was only when i played a non-eGO server that i started finding items again :S

Ok, ok, ok, ill shed some light. THEORY 1: When having the "Eliminating the Impossible" Medic set equipped, the items change their descriptions, to itty bitty pieces of a Sherlock Holmes novel quote ("Think of the deeds of hellish cruelty, the hidden wickedness which may go on, year in, year out, in such places, and none the wiser.") which can somewhat be expected as the Medic set does have a "Mystery Solving" theme to it. Also, some neat stuff to notice is on the "Cheese Wheel", it is manufactured by the same company as the soldiers weaponry. Now, we have proven that we have a "Mystery" here, but what for might you ask, MEET THE PYRO AND MAN VS MACHINNE. Lint = Fire, Diary = Has burn mark, Damaged Capacitor = Machine, has 6.22 (Friday) labeled on it, Barn Door Plank = Burnt edges, and, is commonly used on props in valve maps such as 2fort, heres some screenshot proof http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198049359343/screenshot/596974051309884809?tab=public
Gold fish = To be determined, and also, exactly 1 hour before the goldfish was released, valve employee, fireslash, face punched "Why aren't goldfish made of gold?", Cheese Wheel = To be determined, Banana Peel = To be determined. Also, the meet the pyro still shot at tf2.com main page appears to show old weternish buildings and barns maybe. Lets talk like detectives here, all these items are "Clues" to Meet the Pyro, and Man vs Machinne. Some other things to note, is that in all of the items original descriptions, they all use the word "Mysterious". So far what we can conclude, is that all of these items are a "Mystery" to "Meet the Pyro", and oddly enough, there is quite a bit of evidence towards Man vs Machinne which i will further talk about now. In the previous update, along with the new items, there was a good amount of new coding with new languages, but not just new languages, snapshot and i were having a long and informative conversation about it, he has broken and hacked into the tf2 server.dll and has discovered hidden new codings added with the new languages, bot codings, which mention bot factories, bot squad leaders, and bot bosses, this machine update is starting to freak me out now lol. Now Mr. Snapshot has actually played the Man vs Machinne alpha at valve headquarters, but he has sworn not to spill the beans, here is a quote from himself,"I alpha tested the Mann vs Machine when I visited Valve. Be prepared, and know your paradoxes. You're all in for a treat." 6.22.12, a important date.
THEORY 2: Many of you know about valves newly hired Economist, Yanis Varoufakis, in a short and sweet version, this is his testing on how the tf2 economy reacts to new unknown items, this might just be part of theory 1, or it may be its own theory.
This article could not of been possible without Snapshot and his knowledge of valve, and redit and Notroop helped out a lot on Theory 2. I may be adding further info later, stay tuned!
Make your own thread you darned hippie!
He did. I merged that one along with this one in order to prevent 100000 threads all regarding the new update, whatever it may be.

pfffffft bring on the thousand threads
but what puzzles me the most about all these is the fact that none of these updates are being documented in steam as though its supposed to be a secret
then the comment about the gold fish when I think of gold and tf2 my first thought is australium
now could it be these "robots" the capacitors belong to were planned to be powered on australium but it being very rare they used a much cheaper esource goldfish
the cheese hmmmm I played this game called attack of the cheese eating robots one time but- naaaaaaaaaaaaahhh
banana really I got nothin'
p.s. noble he clearly moved yours cuz he liked me better
