If you receive a chat request from a random person on Steam stating something along the lines of:


Hi. STEAM will give you 1 FREE game to add to your account just visit: Link Removed


then disregard as spam.

The above profile appears to belong to a scammer that has joined the eGO Dota 2 group.

Make sure to use Steam Guard then you wont get your account stolen.

If you receive any chat from anyone sending you to a site claiming to give free games, its probably best to just ignore it. Its usually(always) a phishing site that is there just to try and get your login/password so they can jack your account, and then use your account to attempt to do it to more people.

There is no reason not to use this. Even with your log in info it is 99.9% impossible for them to take over your account and do malicious activities with it.

Consider it a cheap lesson in life. If things are too good to be true it's probably a scam.

All I have to say is look at Steam then look at the hack site. Steam NEVER asks for your email address or password when you sign in.
