Yes you heard that right! Activision has laid off key members of Radical Entertainment's staff & therefore the company will no longer be around. However, remaining members of Radical will continue to work on games under Activision's direction. There was a tweet bout this on Activision's page. I just found out bout this via Xfire.
In just a short amount of time, Prototype 2 managed to set records for sales, but according to Activision, the sales were apparently not good enough. Im thinking that Activision was gonna pull the plug on them anyways, even before this game was gonna come out, but they wanted to see if they could get enough game sales.
Well, now imho, Activision has lost another customer (this guy). Although Radical didnt make a bunch of games, they were well noted for their creative ideas, as well as starting the Prototype series. I seriously think that Activision should have shut down the team earlier & cut their losses, but its always bout the $$. God only knows how many more developers that they will kill off before its all their product. This is just getting more sickening how these companies are just trying to kill off the gaming industry (well more specifically their competitors). My heart truly goes out to those who just got laid off & I do hope that they will be able to find some form of a job that will help to take care of their rent & food. Meanwhile Activision gets millions more.
