Honestly, with the DLC not even close to being done being released. Would not be excited to hear about BF4. If people think Premium was a means to milk money out of the consumer base can't imagine what they consider a new installment so soon. The only thing that would make it worthwhile is if they actually lived up to the hype of truly destructible environments that Frostbite 2 allegedly promised. I still feel BC2 had more destruction than BF3 and that's honestly the saddest thing about it all. And speaking of BC2 if the next game was BC3 this early I'd be less apprehensive about the "announcement."
2143 before bf4, nuff said
This.
I don't think we'll see anything about BF4 officially until at least May of 2013.
Really, BC 1 and 2 were just test games to prepare for the actual core game of BF3. 1) To try BF on console and 2) to work out the Frostbite engine, so that if either didnt work out, people would blame the BC series, not core BF, and I kind of hope that BC is done with, unless they have some new tech to try out.
I actually wouldn't mind if they did a sort of rotation where they make a WWII game, then a modern combat game, then a future game, and on and on, so that we always have an updated version of each time period. Ex. 1942 (WWII) > BF2 (Modern) > 2142 (Future) > 1943 (WWII) > BF3 (Modern), with the next game being hopefully 2143, and by the time they'd be ready to make the next after that, it'd be at least 2015 or 2016, so the newest tech would most likely result in an amazing WWII game, and they could start the cycle again.
I love BF3, and I hope they make it last at least until the end of 2013 (with all the expansions), but I hope the next game is not modern era.

i want a new WW2 battlefield!
Like i am excited to see bf4 but at the same time it sucks that EA has started working on it rather then putting ALL their efforts into bf3 expansions
