Since there's a capture the flag event tomorrow (and hopefully every friday!), here are the official DotA 2 CTF Event rules. It's a very fun event, so I hope you all can make it.
CTF Rules
Game Mode: Captain's Mode
Gameplay
1. Before the game starts, each captain (blue and pink) will briefly farm the middle lane to acquire a Gem of True Sight. All other players will stay in their respective bases until the hiding phase begins.
2. When all players are ready, the EC will instruct both teams to hide their gems for the other team to find. Each team will have one minute to choose a suitable location for their gem. After the minute passes, both teams may cross the river in search for the other team's gem.
3. After a player finds and takes the other team?s gem, he must return the gem to his fountain.
4. Once a successful capture is made, the gem will be returned to its respective side. All players will also return to their side and another hiding phase will begin.
5. Once the game clock shows 60 minutes, the team with the most captures wins. Should a tie occur, there will be a 5 minute overtime and, if necessary, a sudden death.
Rules
- The gem must be hidden on a team's OWN side of the river. The gem may not be hidden in places that require use of an ability or item (e.g. teleports, blink dagger and quelling blade) to reach said place. The item may not be hidden within the aggravation radius of a tower or in a base.
- When a player has captured a flag, he may not use any abilities or item active abilities that make the hero invisible or move faster. If a player does use an ability, he must drop the flag and return to his side.
- If a flag is captured then dropped, the flag?s respective team can either leave the flag where it was dropped or return it to its original spot. The same option will be given if the flag is accidentally destroyed.
- Towers may not be attacked, but they may be defended from a creep wave. If a tower does fall, its opposite tower is allowed to be destroyed as well in order to keep the game balanced. For example, if the Dire top tier 1 tower is destroyed, the Dire have permission to destroy the Radiant top tier 1 tower.
- Wards are allowed, but they may not be placed in the river or on the opposite team?s side of the map.
-The hero Rikimaru may not be picked.
