I just reviewed the server rules again, and noticed something I don't recall seeing before, or at least I'm reading it differently now.

"We consider any spot that requires driving a helicopter, parachuting, or walking/driving out of bounds to be an exploit spot. As such, no player should be in one of these spots. Additionally, a few unfair positions on some maps are considered out of bounds. If you are unsure about these areas, seek an =(eG)= or =(eGO)= ranked admin. "

Does this mean that one should not be going out of bounds and running back into the main play area? My original thought was that the helos that park on hills off the main play area are the target of the rule, but it can be read to mean that players should not be running the far edges of the map either. Pretty much everyone runs or drives off the map (eg the havoc to avoid vads, a sniper trying to flank someone, a jeep driving around b) from time to time.

Running outta the map then running back in is fine as long as you are not doing it to exploit something. This rule was developed mainly for BC2 because there are many exploit spots that you could get to via helicopter or by parachuting down to. This rule mainly applies in BF3 when someone goes out of bounds to get into the enemy spawn or to get to obvious exploit spots.

Some examples in BC2 in eG Private: http://www.edge-gamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169436

Vert I don't get one of those from Arica harbor, the third pic, the spot is not out of bounds, and from the looks of it , you wouldn't have to go out of bounds to get to it...I don't get it.
Next thing I would like to say is maybe a Admin map class? close down the rush server and show everyone where these spots are? I know it is asking a lot but from my point of view it would only make me and others better admin. Maybe do the dame for BF3.

Beemer, that spot is indeed out of bounds. If you want, I wouldn't mind getting on our HC Rush server sometime and showing you guys all the spots. I've spent so much time there, I know all of them. Lol

What is the stance then on players parachuting onto the windmills for sniper positions and such? That seems to fall right into the definition as Papa1960 quoted.

I dont admin things like that, i only play bf3 and i personally will para drop onto places for lolz and i wont admin people for para dropping

They are sitting ducks for choppers. A well placed tank round from distance will hurt em too.

On a hardcore, where you can't be spotted (q button) it's a great perch. On our HM, it's not that great. One killcam shot and the whole team is gunning for you!

The wind turbines on Heavy Metal are in the "exceptions" of the exploits.

I looked at the pics in the forums and yea they are out of bounds there are a few "pilots" that use these spots to park and camp. I will keep my open for ppl that disregard that rule thank you for asking that question pappa.

Remember that the helo's do have a bigger area to fly in, and if they are in that area they are not exploiting, even if they flew there and sit and gun, it is not exploiting. I know this because I ask about it....:)

So who did you ask?

There does not appear to be a clear ruling on this. A BH parked in the rocks well above C is clearly out of bounds for people, but not for people inside a helo. However, they are not spottable from people at B, nor visible from tanks on the ground in front of B. However, should any infantry be spotted in front of B they take minigun rounds until they die.

I should point out that I really don't care what the consensus is on this, but I hear complaints from pubbers and members about it when it's occurring. I have warned , but never kicked anyone for it. Others have said that have kicked for it.

just shoot the blackhawk with the at4 or trace it and use the rpg.

You MIGHT be able to trace it because you saw it on the killcam when it wasted you between A and B, but that's beyond the range for a lock with an rpg.
