Thank you all who attended the event this evening, and also thank you Meg, Boyle, Anni, Chuck, and Lung for all your help and letting me host this new event idea.

I would love for this event to get smoothed out, so there are obviously a few things that need to be adjusted. For those who did not attend, I will post the outline for the event w/ some new adjustments (shown in bold).

- Two captains choose their teams
- Each team will have 1 Sniper, rest are Rockets

- Snipers will position themselves in their sniper locations facing each other
- NO-CLIPPING WILL NOT BE USED
- Will have LOS of each other and playing field
- Will NOT fire rifle/sidearm
- Can zoom to spot enemies
- Will NOT be shot at by rockets

- All others on teams will be Rockets
- ONLY use bazookas/pazerschreks OR melee
- Will NOT fire secondary weapons
- Will NOT fire rockets at, or attack Snipers until end of round
- Must stay in middle attack field but can take cover
- May pass mid-field to attack but ONLY with melee out (once you cross mid-field, you are required to stay as melee)

- After opposing teams rockets have been destroyed, remaining rockets will pursue the enemy sniper
- Must attack Sniper w/ melee weapons ONLY
- Sniper is allowed to retaliate w/ melee weapons ONLY
- Sniper is allowed to hide/stalk/assault enemy sniper/rockets as MELEE ONLY after his/her team has been eliminated
- Enemy sniper is allowed to hunt opposing sniper as MELEE ONLY with his rocket team AFTER opposing rocket team as been eliminated

- FRIENDLY FIRE WILL BE TURNED OFF
- Sent to SPEC after being killed
- Round ends after one of the snipers have been killed
- At end of the event, player with most kills on a sniper is declared as the winner

Your obvious goal as a sniper is to provide your team with enough awareness of their surroundings to destroy the enemy rocket team as fast as possible.

And with that, I would love to hear all of your comments/suggestions on what you think about the event. How you liked it with its current setup and/or how it can be changed for the better. Some things I would love to see suggestions on are listed below.

- Map suggestions
- FF OFF or FF ON
- Allowed to pass mid-field to melee or restrict teams to stay on their side of the field until enemy rocket team destroyed
- Attack/Defend as an alternative game mode
One thing I feel that needs to be reminded is that when a command is given, please follow it. I need everyone's cooperation, especially on these first few runs, to make sure we get this cleaned up nicely.

The only thing left to mention is that on either the next or third run of this event, I will be providing a free copy of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to the declared winner of the event. So put your forum faces on, and toss some ideas this way!

I thought it was a pretty fun event, even though I wasnt able to ever score a kill, still fun. lol. But if you wanted my opinion id say organization would be the most important thing that could be changed. Not necessarily from the ones putting the event together, but from the actual players, as you stated though.

Also another thing would the map, both were fairly decent with what was required. But I feel like there might be a map out there with perfect symmetry, I would guess there is. Either way nice event, thanks for letting me participate! :)

Your event was a lot of fun Chimp. With a little tweaking it will smooth out.

- Allowed to pass mid-field to melee or restrict teams to stay on their side of the field until enemy rocket team destroyed

This is the only thing I would change. I would allow crossing over after x minutes have elapsed maybe, so it isn't a camp fest. I would also try several different kinds of maps to see what works out the best.

The timer might not be such a bad idea. The only thing is you see how fast everyone died from rockets alone, so it's definitely not a camp fest by any means. As far as maps, I need to check out a bunch more.

Thanks for your suggestions. Keep'em coming!

If you want, I can make one. If you give me some guide lines on how you want it done

Loved the event! found it really fun and would def play it again!!!!

I would say that a timer is not necessary. If you are willing to rush the other team at any time with shovel/knife drawn, more power to you. A diversion, if you will. they will be so immersed in trying to blow up the knife wielding maniac running right at them that they will forget about the rockets coming right at their faces. I actually tried to do that once and was exploded by my own teammate. I agree if FF was off, it would be more melee friendly, but not necessarily easier.

I would SO like to try this event a few different times on different maps, its a good idea!

I really enjoyed it, and the rounds go by fast.

AGREED that in the beginning everyone needs to be silent and listen (myself included, I think I was firing rockets at a random target... sorry about that!)

but the more times we do this it will get smoother. Once again, good idea chimp- it was fun

Sounds good. I'll hit you up in STEAM sometime late in the evening on Sunday.

Both good points. The rounds blew by so fast, that I don't really feel it's necessary to have a timer to countdown before allowing teams to pass mid-field. We will try it with FF off next time to see how that works out for us. And yes, we are going to try to force secondary weapons to have zero ammo to avoid all the craziness in spawn.

Another thing is that it can be a pain to require someone to be no-clipped at the start of each round (especially when the rounds are going by so fast). So in the maps that I will be looking at, there will be sniper houses/structures that will let the sniper provide sufficient logistical data and still be able to get out quickly.

Again, thank you all for your responses and I'm hoping to have it smoothed out a great deal before our next attempt. Hope to see you all there!
