Server Filling: The Simple Truth

What does that look like to you? I'll tell you what it looks like to me: those server banners show me a Division that is dying.

I know we have the members to fill these servers. I know we can do it. We as leadership will be more actively pushing server filling (Yes even I'll be playing more BF3). We need you guys to help us out. The leadership team can't do this alone. We need your help.

You guys make this Division successful. Leadership can only do so much and I admit we have been failing the small part we play in this Division over at least the last few weeks (seeing as I don't know about this summer).

Armored Kill has been out less than a week and our AK server still sits empty and has only filled once. That should be easy to fill.

Our priority for server filling is as follows:

Armored Kill -> B2K -> City Maps -> Rush

Now for the serious part of this post.

Should these servers not turn around by the end of the month for at least 2 servers we will be dropped AT LEAST one server and right now I am considering two of them. That would be a major blow to our Division and what we are doing now is wasting eGO's resources and I won't let eGO waste its money on empty servers.

If you have any questions of suggestions feel free to respond to this thread. We'll be taking all suggestions into account.

Killer was very good at rallying people to fill servers before he resigned. Since that unfortunate turn of events it seems that our server filling has been a lot more slack.

I'll definitely help fill the servers. The only thing that I can't fill is Armored Kill because I don't have Premium, but in the upcoming days/week ill hopefully have enough cash to buy it so that I can help fill AK. I'll also be able to be on much more when my brothers go to college in the upcoming week.

Maybe i am a late bloomer, but i like BC2.. I have played BF3..I currently do not have premium.. Bf3 like many games is fast evolving..Armoured Fury, i am a armour nut, a wing nut ( Fixed Wing & Rotory Aircraft ). One thing to remember, is that school is back in session, we are in the fall, christmas is around the corner. as for Leadership Left, i will heeed your call to fill the servers.. i think the sparkle of BF3 was worn down a bit...hence the introduction of another add on. Maybe we should consider scaling back a couple of the maps that dont preform. It would be a cost saving measure. I personally can not afford to spring for $ 50.00 everytime they come out with a new expansion pack. Truthfully it's a matter of economics. I have several major appliances take a hiatus, Chit the bed. $ 600.00 bucks for a dryer, a car went south in July, you know life stuff. Left i will lead the charge, sound the alarm... and rally the troops. Swamp

Close Quarters was removed from our server line-up due to the lack of support from members. But atm we are having this issue with all our servers. If you can prove to us leadership that there are enough people wanting a close quarters server then we would be willing to consider changing one of the current servers back to Close Quarters.

I don't like to bring this up, and this is in no way intended to be offensive, but Shortstuf said it: the leadership has not been involved.

I think this has gone unsaid for too long. When Killer was in leadership, he and tipton were the only ones constantly involved. Vert is often in Vent, but not in-game. Music only idles in servers. And Shortstuf and Left don't even play the game. I think when your division leaders and council member don't even play the game they represent/lead, it says something about your division.

Another issue is that people go off onto other servers when ours are empty. Someone tries to get everyone to come to one server to fill it, but they look at the server and say "Well, there's only one person there, I won't make much of a difference" so they stay there. So now you have 10 eGO members in different servers. I do this too occasionally, but I try to help fill when I have time.

Lastly, a lot of new games have come out. I know there are a lot of BF div players interested in Planetside and Guild Wars, so they're off playing those.

Personally, I don't like HC, and for some reason the people in charge of the servers feel the need to keep changing our servers to HC. I know a lot of people don't like Normal, but AK was full with 64 players and a 5 person queue as Normal, and now it sits empty. I am much more inclined to fill a Normal server. Also, 32 player Conquest (Bazaar, Seine, Metro, DP) rarely fills. People play PC for 64 players (or 32 player Rush). Make the 32 player server Rush, or 64 player Conquest, because no one wants to play small conquest.

I disagree on this, the only maps i like in small conquest are the ones above, its currently the server which fits me the most in what ego offers... but whitout a crew to start it up i can barely play on it.

I have 4 kids so my playing time is reduced to late nights on friday and saturday and a lil bit during the day on saturday and sunday so what little playing time i have is precious to me. so jumping in one of our empty servers is not an option to get the full playing experience i desire.
Plus i play Non-HC CQ, AK and Caspian border. with an occasional Seine conquest/rush or metro-rush.

maybe we might want to try another poll and best configure the servers to fit the whole of the division. Its been a while since i have seen a poll for this (back when bf3 was released) send a pm to every member of the division to vote on this poll. Let them know that every vote is important and that failure to vote might result in loss of servers

maybe we should eliminate one server and make all of our servers @least 32 slots each. maybe 2/ 32 slots and 1/64 (ak like it is now) playing city maps and the metro/seine,peak, etc with 32 slots. It seems when i search for servers in battlelog are usually the ones with the most slots are the ones filling up. ditch the hc rush since its rank is 2x+ more than the other 3

Since somehow this thread turned into the age old discussion of hardcore vs. normal instead of filling servers, I'll say this. I would hope that as a member of eGO whether or not you personally prefer hardcore or normal mode that you would still help support eGO by playing on and filling eGO servers.

I have spent quite a lot of time trying to fill our servers this past month and barely had an effect on them. I can tell you it is very frustrating sitting on a server with one other person for hours on end when there are eight other eGO Battlefield members online in ventrilo all playing together on a non eGO server because they do not want to help. I have seen this happen many times this past month. Imagine if all these people played together on our servers and helped fill them. They would be full all the time.

We need to work together and fill our servers together.

As far as server population goes....If anyone has a highend system that can FRAPS some eGo, Down and dirty, kill you while you sleep videos....Have an editor take care of the footage and upload it to youtube, dailymotion...That type of thing. Simple, effective, propaganda! Plus, after 1 million views, if you're a partner, youtube will pay $3,300 per million views...A win win....My two cents
