i have devised a small list of what it takes to be a competitive medic if you doing agree please tell me and why i am looking for more of the opinions of the people who play medic

40% awareness:
- know where threats are coming from, where allies are, which flanks are uncovered.
- listen to comms to draw a mental map of this
- know how many players are alive at any time

40% positioning:
- Dont get 'caught out' by a jumping soldier.
- Stay safe, but not so safe that you cant heals people in need
- Unless for uber catches, dont compromise position for teammates, have them come to you
- Each map is unique
- sense and react to unseen potential threats

10% comms:
the medic need to keep his team together

10% healing rotations/ubers:
- The only actual medic unique skills, whcih i why i think medic is not a particularly invloved class compared to others
- Know whether its worth ubering to save a palyer in a situaiton (first heavy no, 2nd yes)
- Look around for playesr that need short uber tabs in fights, but only do when absoluteyl required.
- Prioitize keeping demoman, primary soldier alive in combat, but if there's no threat buff roamers first (scout /2ndary) to full overheal.

This isn't really key to competitive medic. It's just something that Medics should always do.

Goz is 2gud. If a normal medic doesn't do this in pubs, everyone is mad. Hands down.

You guys and your criticalies.
Thanks Trade Mark :)

if a pub medic did this and all pub medics did this lol what would be the point of competitive when its happening in pubs i would love to see a pub medic who only plays pubs who keep all this in mind when he goes into pubs
just saying people usually don't pub to play medic

I feel like communications should get more percentage. But I don't play competitive, so I don't know. :X

I'll continue my pub medic ways of chasing after spies and saving my patients by taking a crocket to the face. XD

Kazoo's a fine example of never playing competitive but doing all these things as a Medic.

And the point of competitive is so that people aren't subject to the randomness that is pubs. On a random pub server you can be subjected to 5 Medics a team or 4 Spies with almost no synergy amongst the team. Competitive is for the people who really want to win, enjoy competition, and would like to see an organized team with a good strategy.

Medics more often than not, are seen in pubs when the team actually gets it together and wants to win.

What you just said is that all Medics in pubs don't keep this in mind and therefore don't want to win. Bring up a better argument next time, and better writing.

i am sorry if i am upsetting you i just though ti would post this do you play medic though? becuase i thought i said i would want opinions from a medic player but as from what i have read only one person who plays medic has posted here

Hey I'm not upset. I'm just answering your question as to "if a pub medic did this and all pub medics did this lol what would be the point of competitive when its happening in pubs"

No, I do not play Medic. You want advice from a Medic player then you can ask for it, but you can't stop everyone else from posting here.

i understand that but what i am arguing is from a medic point of view what i posted is a mere opinion about what it takes to be a medic and your argument is very valid and cant be ignored i know when people play a game in general whether its to have fun or just to play why wouldn't you want to win many pub medics from my opinion are people who you just starting medic and don't know much or just playing it because it appeals to them i have no intention on offending anyone who plays pub medic only just an opinion and nor am i the best medic of course i always have room to learn new things and improve on everything as what i do almost everytime i play tf2.

I can respect your opinion. I'm just stating mine.

I think its 100% pop it don't drop it or be murdered by mean words from your teammates.

Medics need to be clear when stating where they are going and have a basic idea of the strategy that their team is using so as to not run into a ton of unfriendly's. Comm's are important but they also need to know that they are not running the push and need to let the forwards(Scouts) talk about the field ahead.
