what it takes to be a competitive medic

this is true but you forget one thing, YOU ALWAYS OVER HEAL EVERYONE, you jump around whiel in mid air it keeps ur hit box minimized to a point and always be opera. "YOU GET A OVER HEAL AND YOU GET AN OVER HEAL AND YOU GET AN UBER!"

Conclusion:
Get those servers filled 24/7.
Moar Moar Moar medics.

I feel like communications should get more percentage. But I don't play competitive, so I don't know. :X

I'll continue my pub medic ways of chasing after spies and saving my patients by taking a crocket to the face. XD

*spits milk* LMFAO

I think it is 90% awareness then everything else...

Thought this could use some more discussion. I'm not sure about the number, but situational awareness is clearly huge for Medics.

To be clear, situational awareness is critical for all classes. As your ability to maintain an accurate mental model of your environment increases, you should see improvements in performance regardless of class. With perfect awareness, we'd run into fewer demo traps, get backstabbed by fewer spies, and be able to dodge more projectiles. We'd be always able to adjust our placement and velocity to optimize for every situation.

The thing that prevents perfect awareness is not just our imperfect human brain, but splitting our attention between varying priorities. You might dodge a rocket just to land on a grenade.

It's not that the medic needs more situational awareness, but rather his time spent not aiming at enemies or managing ammo can be used to maintain better awareness. Medics have to do fighting too of course, but these events are infrequent compared to the times most other classes aim and fire. Medics have to manage their ubercharges, but managing that is done on a longer timescale than working two weapons and reloading and switching between them optimally.

Before anyone gets mad, I'm not saying that throwing lead downrange is necessarily superior. I'm saying that NOT having to constantly focus on direct combat allows you to help the team in a distinct and important manner. Not better or worse, just different.
