GameMe Rankings officially pointless

LOL!!!! Its because you all are babies!!! Lol

I use it know how good a player usually is. Aka not really the exact rank but if you have a bunch of points its a measure of skill and time spent on our servers.

For example : You kill spidey and you lose two points because he is awful
But if you kill Wilson you get 45 points you can see the difference

Apparently Spidey is so bad you get negative points for killing him. xD

Haha, keep your K/D up and newbies won't have the chance to kill you.

Or, have a taunt battle with some high-ranking O's when you seed in the morning. That always helps the points.

I see you Drac :P

Great tactic! :chair::facewall::crying::laugh:

The day I start caring about my K/D will be the day TF2 won't be fun anymore that's why !gameme_vanish 1 works awesome.

you know, its the point system, for how many points i get for killing you. Kinda like the point system while driving a car and hitting people.

except the maximum point loss/gain is 25.

and since when do you lose points for killing someone? you lose points for getting killed yourself.

Nice thread. But now, we don't carry on; we continue talking about GameMe. :X

While losing rank is not the end of the world for me, I like taking a look at my rank every now and then and try to keep it in the top 100. But I don't care for my rank at all when I am filling/starting servers, since I'm usually goofing around waiting for more people to join.

I'm kind of the same Kazoo, except I like looking at my overall kill count ranking (Major atm), as well as my award wins. Kill/death is still important to me as well. It's just the point ranking list I don't care about.

I think if points gained/lost for k/d weren't relative to other players' rankings, the system would work better- in other words, if you gained the same number of points no matter who you killed, and lost the same number of points no matter who killed you. This sliding scale of 2-25 points ruins the system.

People used to say the same thing about HLStatsX

And I go through phases. Sometimes I could care less about my GameNe stats and other times I rage quit because I'm loosing too many points?

I used to pay attention with HLStats but when everything reset to Gameme I did not really bother with it, I am curious as to what made GameMe a better choice than HLstats.

Heheh... I don't care about gameME... *twitch*

lol?

GameMe is a far better system than HLStats as far as how it was coded. A search in HLStats might take the better part of 30 seconds (or perhaps longer), whereas GameMe can usually do the same search in just a few seconds. It's also just generally more efficient, looks spiffier and collects more data (for instance, it shows you your kill and death locations overlaid on top-view pictures of maps where HLStats didn't have anything resembling that)

However, the points that it assigns to different actions (such as dying to someone with 1000 points) don't seem to be any more balanced to me than HLStats?

I don't really see that system working any better. I doubt there will ever be a perfect points system for a game like Team Fortress 2. There's too many things to take into consideration.

Consider ALL the things!!!!!1!!
