Federal is a brand of ammunition, I have a 1943 Turkish 8mm Mauser and i get the original hot loaded ww2 rounds for mine, They're about $10/200 at gun shows around here in the original ammo straps with strippers still attached so you can just slide it in and *ching* you're ready to shoot.

Yea but the brass turkish ones are not very good. Get the 2-piece steel ones, those are the best. Right now, 8mms are dryin up real fast. The good deal you may find is the 8mm M75 Sniper Rounds from yugoslavia for $6 dollars for 15 rounds. Average/Good price is .20 cents a round for older surplus.

I didnt meant Brass Turkish as in the ammo it self, I was talking about the stripper clip. Turkish is alittle bit hot, but its all good. Yugoslavian 50's have hard primers though, so some might have some problems shooting them.

I thought you were refering to the brass shells, lol. I paid $99 for my Turk 8mm Rifle but its nowhere near as good as a k98k. Although its got a better petina then those k98's there.

Lol, I can buy ammo from the same place I got the rifles from, and I think its dirt cheap if I remember correctly. They got a couple crates of k98's with ammo around them in bags, so I doubt its too expensive. I walked in that gun shop about 4 months ago, saw them crates, and it was love at first sight. -_-

my sisters boyfriend just got back from Iraq getting blown up and stuff and started his own armory. His prize is a 1943 Springfield Armor M1 Garand. Kicks like a mule, but crazy fun to shoot.

Well depends on the condition of the gun that determines the prices. If bolt + reciever is matching, its gonna be more expensive. If its forced match, AKA Russian Capture, its not gonna fetch alot of price. Also need to look at the head stamp, like, is it DOU or S/42, or such. There is alot of factor that goes in to determine the price. Bore condition is one of the most important fact of all. $280 sounds like a shooter rifle, probabrly have a bit dark bore with rifling still there. Have fun!
