Somethings up with my system, and it looks like it's not doing so well. I've had a couple of random crashes and such, and can't find the problem.

This post is here to let you guys know that if I suddenly disappear and not play or post on forums in the near future, I'm working on getting a new comp.

You've probably already done these things, but have you cleared the dust bunnies around your fans and heatsinks, reinstalled your OS, and monitored temperatures on the fresh install? It's often some combination of heat and corruption on disk that causes issues in otherwise smoothly-running machines. Just 2c. Good luck!

Hey bud, sorry to hear about your problem, but this is better suited in the Tech Help section.

You'll find more help and tips there.

Good luck!

Throw a brick at it.

But in all seriousness, what is it doing exactly? Is it just crashing randomly?

Random crashes (probably the hard drive), Artefacts and flickering graphics (the graphics card), overheating (has been an issue with my model of laptop since day one, just the model not anything I can fix about it), Battery malfunctions (turns itself off claiming it has low battery and isn't plugged in, when it is plugged in and doesn't have a battery inserted)...

I've literally opened up and fixed it about 5 or 6 times myself, and it's just wearing down.

On the bright side, I may be getting a new one this or next week.

Yeah, laptops can be difficult, especially when you combine questionable cooling with gaming loads. Good luck on the new machine!

Man I had no idea so many people attempted to game on laptops until I came to eGO. My best advice is get the whole thing replaced. You really can't solve many problems on a laptop since everything is usually non-replaceable save the HDD/RAM and maybe the CD/DVDROM.
