To my fellow e's - I direct the following message.
Too often, we e's are mistaken for newbies whose sole purpose is to play on the servers and have fun - now let me be clear - this is true. You can simply sit back and enjoy the ride.
However, for those who wish to contribute, there is work to be done!
As e's, we are the first line of defense. When a would-be hacker, troll, sailor mouth, or other miscreant comes into the server, we are the ones who can do our part, and warn that individual of their mistake. Too often I have found myself being the only eGO member on the server, and have informed pubs of language rules or other - with great results. However, there will come the time when you will have to call upon the higher powers, the G's and the O's - in order to solve a problem. Do not be scared of higher ranks, for they are our peers and they are happy (most of the time) to help us!
In addition, we are the first line of offense! We can recruit just as well as any other, and encourage people to join eGO. Recruiting is VITAL to this organization, for without new recruits the lifeblood of eGO stops.
Lastly, KNOW THY RULES. Be as informed as possible, keep up with events, be in the know!
To paraphrase the Sniper: Be polite, be efficient, have a plan for everyone you meet!
