Well I've got a double feeling about Counter Strike : Global Offensive. Like every game it has its pro's and cons, but I'm not sure which ones weight more. I like the graphic style, really makes me thing of Left 4 Dead 2. Especially when I'm shooting with the AK-47.
As always maps have been polished and editted but they always have the same structure. Which I like. Counter Strike is the only game that has the same maps over and over.
I'm really happy they've added new maps and game modes. We still have the old game modes, such as: Rescue the Hostages & Defuse the bomb.
We now also have Arms Race: This is the Gun Game Mod, only it isn't a mod anymore. They've turned it into an actual game mode.
Another new game mode is Demolition: This is a combination of Arms Race and Defuse the Bomb. The objective is still for the Terrorists to plant the bomb, and obviously the CTs must defuse it. But, here comes the twist; Terrorists start off with the AK-47 and CTs start off with the M4. Once you get a kill, you "rank up" in guns next round. You must make at least one kill to get a new weapon the next round. Only thing is, it actually doesn't matter if you get 5 kills or 1 kill in a game, you only gain 1 weapon rank.
New Maps:
- Monastry (Arms Race)
- Bank (Demolition)
- Shoots (Arms Race)
- Baggage (Arms Race)
- Lake (Demolition)
- Shorttrain (Demolition)
- Safehouse (Demolition)
- Sugarcane (Demolition)
- St. Marc (Demolition)
Eventhough they've added all these cool new stuff, it still doesn't really feel like Counter Strike. Well, Counter Strike : Source to be precise.
For example, you can't put a silencer on the M4 anymore. The only reason why I used the M4 in the first place was because of its silencer. I must say, the M4 in CS:GO shoots differently compared to the M4 on CS:S. It's easier to handle and way more accurate in CS:GO.
It's definitely worth the $22. The game is very refreshing and lots of fun. I still prefer CS:S over CS:GO but I'll be playing them both a lot!
I just need to find people who want to team up with me, so feel free to add me on steam.
