Thinking of buying it.. saw a few gameplay videos, and I kinda like it
Just to clarify, I didn't own CS:S but was a huge fan of the first Counter strike.
Would be thankful if y'all gave me some opinions on it :)
thanks

CS:GO is a return to the firsst counterstrike. It is much more similar to 1.6 than source is, and appears to be much more favored in competitive circles.

The game play feels a lot more fast paced in my opinion. It feels like your playing a game like modern warfare on Xbox with counterstrike weapons. I don't care for it much, but I endorse trying it to get your own view of it, you may love it.

I think it's good, it has a different feel compared to CS:S and feels like it's own game which I personally like.

Definitly different to CSS I didn't like it much to start because every second thing was a bug. But now most bugs I had have been fixed and I can play it with enjoyment

Well I've got a double feeling about Counter Strike : Global Offensive. Like every game it has its pro's and cons, but I'm not sure which ones weight more. I like the graphic style, really makes me thing of Left 4 Dead 2. Especially when I'm shooting with the AK-47.
As always maps have been polished and editted but they always have the same structure. Which I like. Counter Strike is the only game that has the same maps over and over.

I'm really happy they've added new maps and game modes. We still have the old game modes, such as: Rescue the Hostages & Defuse the bomb.
We now also have Arms Race: This is the Gun Game Mod, only it isn't a mod anymore. They've turned it into an actual game mode.
Another new game mode is Demolition: This is a combination of Arms Race and Defuse the Bomb. The objective is still for the Terrorists to plant the bomb, and obviously the CTs must defuse it. But, here comes the twist; Terrorists start off with the AK-47 and CTs start off with the M4. Once you get a kill, you "rank up" in guns next round. You must make at least one kill to get a new weapon the next round. Only thing is, it actually doesn't matter if you get 5 kills or 1 kill in a game, you only gain 1 weapon rank.

New Maps:
- Monastry (Arms Race)
- Bank (Demolition)
- Shoots (Arms Race)
- Baggage (Arms Race)
- Lake (Demolition)
- Shorttrain (Demolition)
- Safehouse (Demolition)
- Sugarcane (Demolition)
- St. Marc (Demolition)

Eventhough they've added all these cool new stuff, it still doesn't really feel like Counter Strike. Well, Counter Strike : Source to be precise.
For example, you can't put a silencer on the M4 anymore. The only reason why I used the M4 in the first place was because of its silencer. I must say, the M4 in CS:GO shoots differently compared to the M4 on CS:S. It's easier to handle and way more accurate in CS:GO.

It's definitely worth the $22. The game is very refreshing and lots of fun. I still prefer CS:S over CS:GO but I'll be playing them both a lot!
I just need to find people who want to team up with me, so feel free to add me on steam.

It's great, I won't even play source for more than10 minutes at a time now

I think its gonna be my next fave game, but it definatly feels different from the past games, and the graphics are so much nicer!

Agreed, and I like it! I would start playing it a bit more frequently if it had a slightly larger following. Right now there's only a few good community type servers that aren't deathmatch. When eGO CS:S folks start to migrate I think I'll make the switch permanently as well.
