Since we're all gonna die in 17 days I'm not gonna bother Christmas shopping.

I'm just gonna give everyone a hug and party harder than if it were 1999. :P

Party On Dudes!!! ;)

Psh, the Mayans were only predicting the release of Half-Life 3, which would be LIKE the end of the world., so I think we will be ok.

That's funny. I swear the past 38 predictions that the world was going to end I have survived...

Still, an excuse for a party! :D

If you are planning to die in 17 days can I have your steam account info?

Did you know, that when the Maya had their calendar made, there were no leaps years yet? So by that alone, it should be about March 2014 or so based on their calendar. The world should have ended 16 months ago. Invalid thread.

inb4 lock

Edit: There is actually a real reason as to why the Mayan calendar is the way it is. Feel free to pm me if you wish to be enlightened

Let me tell you a little story.

Young Spitfire'd was bright eyed and a senior in high school in the year 1999. Young Spitfire'd fell into the hype of the Y2K CATASTROPHE that was going to happen as soon as all our clocks and calendars attempted to switch to the year 2000. It was going to be the end of the world of all ends of the world.

We're still here. We're still fine. Nothing happened then, nothing will happen now.

See you in 18 days. Might want to do that Christmas shopping.

can i have your stuff?

Let me tell you an even older story about when Spitfire'd was even younger! Just a little child in fact!

XOsniper is in this story, because he was a wee lad too.

We were both riding around on our pet dinosaurs one beautiful day. We had wandered into the run down part of the mountain and were met by a gruff fellow caveman that we were generally supposed to avoid. We were unafraid of course, and XO challenged the man with a loud bellow "Uh Uh Uga Uga Uwa!" which is caveman for "what do you know stranger?"

The stranger proceeded to tell us about how there was a giant meteor coming towards Earth that would separate the land into 7 continents and kill us and our dinosaurs. He called it "Uh Uh Uga Uga Uwa!" which of course is caveman for "The End of the World."

Well sure enough the day came....and nothing happened. He was like 2 weeks off in his prediction. I remember looking at XO that day and saying "Uh Uh Uga Uga Uwa" which we all know is caveman for "that guy's crazy, I told you nothing would happen!"

I mean the meteor still hit, ushered in an ice age and our dinosaurs did die but we lived on, completely unaffected. Except we had to learn to ride horses, which was not nearly as cool or as terrifying to our enemies.

XO had some very wise words to say in the weeks after that. One day while I was eating some berries I found on a bush we saw the sun pierce through the clouds once again. XO turned to me and said, "Uh Uh Uga Uga Uwa!"

I couldn't have said it better myself. I would have tried, but the berries were poisonous and I couldn't speak for the next 3 hours.

So trust me, as one of two people who have survived EVERY major disaster this planet has had, you'll be ok. Now give XO your stuff.

Spit, what does the "Uh Uh Uga Uga Uwa" at the end mean? I think I got it, but my caveman is not as good as it used to be from when I first began to study. I do not want to get it mixed up with "Uh Uh Uga Uga Uwa" which we know wouldn't be allowed here.
